We are currently seeking a Senior Manager for our Vehicle Integration department. This position requires an automotive professional with 10+ years relevant experience planning and organizing tests for design and production validation. Our ideal candidate exhibits a strong drive, an organized mindset, and has had prior experience bringing electric vehicles to production. We need a driven and meticulous individual to take responsibility of the “Product Development Cycle” for the whole vehicle and drive all testing across Lucid to completion.  Candidates will be expected to demonstrate excellence in their respective fields, to possess the ability to learn quickly and to strive for perfection within a fast-paced environment.

  • Support planning, alignment, communication and collaboration in planning and early testing
  • Build CDVP for Midsize program collating all teams testing

The Role:         

Plan, Manage, Track and Execute Lucid’s vehicle testing schedule

 

Centralized Design Validation Plan (Requirements – DFMEA – Design Validation Plan)

  • Creating system to track and report metrics: tests complete, glidepath, tests failed,
  • Individual asset (Vehicle & Buck) plans for all programs and variants
  • Engage with all groups to support issue tracking across engineering fleet by tracking and escalating issues
  • Attend & Support Issue resolution meetings
  • Development Fleet Communications: SW, HW and Upfit Campaigns
  • Liaising with all teams to engage in their alignment and support
  • Engage with Digital Org to ensure alignment, links, and timing is coordinated with SW & HW development
  • Support “Lucid Way” with Chief Engineering team and Program to co-author & implement PDP
  • Ensure vehicle testing design validation plans (DVPs) are submitted by attribute leads, Simultaneous Engineering Team Leads for all Virtual, component, system and vehicle testing and are completed on time.
  • Enhance and maintain our vehicle testing program processes for tracking and visually reporting Program health through every test and the critical path to Production
  • Manage the Vehicle Integration Project Management team increasing communication, collaboration and alignment (Be the central nervous system for the department):
    • Vehicle Attribute Optimization, Requirements & Vehicle Systems Engineering
    • Vehicle Development, Validation & Instrumentation
    • Vehicle Test Operations
    • Prototype Build & Workshop Management
    • Arizona Engineering Operations
    • Fleet Management & Material Planning
    • Machine Shop & Prototyping Operations
    • EU Vehicle Development
    • KSA Vehicle Development
    • Lucid Technology Development
  • Coordinating testing across the organization including securing test facilities and coordinating testing logistics for significant off-site tests: e.g. CET, HET, Alaska, New Zealand etc
    • All Engineering Verticals: Vehicle, Digital, Powertrain & ADAS
    • Program Management & Manufacturing
  • Ensure All Vehicles in the Lucid fleet are fully Utilized, shared and tracked
  • Leverage Grafana data and relationships with Fleet health & Data teams to understand utilization and team usage
    • Support the fleet team with systems to track vehicles including all HW reworks and SW updates
    • Permanently show Grafana data for the Gravity fleet, maximizing uptime and testing on every vehicle every day
  • Predict, Forecast, track and recruit required headcount to match scope
  • Buck planning: support creation of process with Vehicle Architecture team in order to support full vehicle and system Buck builds and testing instead of vehicles
  • Find opportunities to automate and increase efficiency in all our systems and processes

Qualifications:

  • A strong understanding and experience with automotive vehicle testing and systems
  • A strong understanding of vehicle testing standards
  • Experience making schedules for large programs / projects
  • A strong knowledge of the automotive testing process for production vehicles
  • Excellent communication skills and team-oriented attitude
  • Detail oriented and organized mindset
  • Comfortable with initiating and taking ownership of projects
  • Track record of establishing strong processes and work procedures
  • Must be able to travel internationally up to 10%.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience, preferably in Automotive industry

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science minimum in a relevant science or engineering field or extensive years doing relevant work in the automotive industry

Preferred

  • Masters degree in a relevant engineering field
  • MBA or professional certification for Project/Program Management
  • Experience testing fully electric vehicles
  • Experience building testing processes / information systems
  • Experience in the automotive or relevant industry
  • Experience managing:
  1. Vehicle Attribute Optimization, Requirements & Vehicle Systems Engineering
  2. Engineering Fleet operations & Material planning
  3. Machine Shops
  4. Prototype Build

Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Base Pay Range (Annual)

$208,100 - $305,250 USD
