
Waste Team Member
The Waste Team Member supports the safe and compliant handling, segregation, and disposal of all facility waste streams, including scrap materials, recyclables, and non-hazardous waste. This role ensures adherence to environmental regulations and internal waste management procedures while promoting sustainability and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Waste Handling & Segregation
- Collect, sort, and transport waste and scrap from designated points to the Waste Center.
- Ensure proper classification and labeling of waste materials.
 
- Compliance & Safety
- Follow all local, state, and federal environmental regulations, as well as company policies.
- Assist in implementing contingency plans for waste incidents.
 
- Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of waste shipments and disposal activities.
- Support generation of reports focused on waste control and compliance.
 
- Equipment & Process Support
- Ensure availability and proper use of waste handling equipment.
- Participate in audits and inspections to verify compliance with waste management standards.
 
- Incident Response
- Assist in emergency response for waste-related incidents under supervision.
- Communicate promptly with supervisors during abnormal events.
 
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience:
 - 1–2 years in waste management, logistics, or facilities-related roles preferred.
 
- Skills:
 - Knowledge of waste segregation and recycling practices.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and compliance mindset.
 
- Physical Requirements:
 - Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods.
 
Training Requirements
- Completion of waste handling and safety training within six months of hire.
- Annual refresher training on waste handling and emergency procedures.
