
Plant Improvement Manager

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Manufacturing Continuous Improvement Manager to lead our continuous improvement initiatives across all production and operational areas. This leadership role is responsible for developing and executing strategies to improve safety, enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve quality.
You will lead a small group and collaborate with cross-functional leaders to deliver measurable improvements in manufacturing performance and cost savings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Champion lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and kaizen initiatives throughout the plant.
 - Develop, implement, and sustain a optimization roadmap aligned with business objectives.
 - Train and coach employees at all levels on optimization tools and strategies.
 - Oversee time studies, line balancing, and work station design for efficiency and ergonomics.
 - Lead projects to improve OEE, cycle time, and throughput.
 - Optimize plant layout, partner with material flow engineering on material flow, and manpower utilization.
 - Support engineering changes by ensuring efficient line setup.
 - Establish KPIs and dashboards to track improvement initiatives and performance trends.
 - Analyze production data to identify bottlenecks and cost reduction opportunities.
 - Partner with production, quality, maintenance, and material flow engineering to drive cross-functional improvements.
 - Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
 
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
 - Minimum of 7+ years of experience in high-volume automotive environments.
 - Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies, including torque tools, dispensing systems, automation concepts.
 - Experience with MES systems.
 - Demonstrated experience supporting process improvements, driving OEE enhancements, and meeting key manufacturing KPIs in a high-volume production environment.
 - Understanding of quality systems (ISO 9001) and process capability studies.
 - Strong problem-solving skills, with experience applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or root cause analysis methodologies.
 - Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments and contribute to cross-functional teams.
 - Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
 
Performance Metrics:
- Year-over-year improvement in productivity, scrap, and downtime.
 - Reduction in manufacturing costs and cycle time.
 - Successful completion and sustainment of optimization projects.
 - Engagement and capability development within the Sustaining Engineering team.
