The Operational Excellence Associate Lean Coach will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Lucid Production System’s lean projects. This role involves a hands-on, shop-floor approach to driving Continuous Improvement initiatives, including 6S, Problem-Solving investigations, and standardization. The Operational Excellence Associate Lean Coach will collaborate with the Core Team to lead projects aimed at improving Safety, minimizing production issues and costs, and enhancing vehicle quality. They will implement and maintain tools, systems, and training to optimize engagement in continuous improvement activities.

 

You will:

 Optimize employee engagement in all lean programs.
 Assist in eliminating roadblocks to Continuous Improvement.
 Support talent development by training and coaching team members in Lean Principles, their applications, and benefits.
 Conduct audits, Periodic Job Observations, process reviews, and analyses.
 Lead and support departmental Gemba walks.
 Monitor LPS data visualization and analysis to identify improvement opportunities.
 Implement and execute tools, systems, and procedures for Operational Excellence projects, with a focus on problem-solving, continuous improvement, 6S, and standardization.
 Work with cross-functional teams to implement Continuous Improvement solutions. 

 

You Bring:

 1+ years in a manufacturing environment is required.
 Lean and/or Six Sigma knowledge is preferred.  
 Good interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
 Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, both theoretical and practical.
 Ability to lead without authority, can also act as an individual contributor, and work effectively in team environments.
 Ability to build and maintain relationships at various levels within the organization.
 Ability to shift priorities as required by the business needs.
 Proficiency in presentation development and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Scope:

This position will support the entire organization as outlined in the Operational Excellenceorganization chart. 

 

The Associate will report to the Operational Excellence Lean Coach or Operational Excellence Senior Lean Coach, following the same organization chart. Ideally, the Associate will be assigned to a single shop to foster strong engagement with the Production and support teams, including Supervisors, Team Leaders, Team Members, and support functions such as Logistics, Manufacturing, and Maintenance.

 

This role may also support the execution of the Non-Conforming Material management in the corresponding areas per standards and procedures. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities:

The associate position will be responsible for:

 

- Serve as a role model for all LPS Standards at Lucid Motors. 
- Support the Lean Coach in designing LPS standards, tools, and processes by representing the voice of the process and production team.
- Actively support the deployment and implementation of updates to LPS tools and standards.
- Conduct LPS/Quality audits as required.
- Perform LPS or Quality analyses in response to major findings or KPI top offenders.
- Actively participate in training processes. Associates are expected to have a deep knowledge of LPS tools and processes to effectively deploy them on the floor and support the team. Continuous training, including self-training, is required.
- Stay up to date on changes to LPS processes, procedures, and tools.
- Coach the production team, spending significant time on the floor with Production Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Team Members.
- Lead and facilitate problem-solving projects (Kaizen) and participate in cross-functional team efforts.
- Train the production team on LPS tools or any additional topics aligned with LPS as needed.
- Lead and support MRB walks/huddles as required, following MRB procedures. Refer to NCM for more details.

 

Do:

- Role Model the LPS/Safety standards. 
- Provide feedback to design, improve, and adjust LPS standards and tools. 
- Deploy LPS strategies and tools on the shop floor. 
- Perform LPS/Quality audits per TDM and Procedures. 
- Accomplish the training plan, including self-training. 
- Perform coaching sessions with the production team on LPS standards and tools. 
- Actively participate in the Problem-solving projects. 
- Support MRB walks/huddles as required. 
- Follow the escalation protocol. 
- Feel free to speak up and share any concerns, questions, comments, suggestions, complaints, etc. 

 

Don’t:

- Run the line as TL or Team Member. 
- Assign tasks or delegate any task to a team member on the shop floor. Talk to the supervisor. 
- Follow an isolated strategy or plan. Bring all the ideas to the team so we can align and replicate them. 
- Feel the need to know it all. 
- Provide any feedback regarding some topics you don’t have clear. 
- Report out. 
- Be resistant to feedback. Don’t take any feedback as personal. It’s all about the job. 

 

 

General

- Performance Objectives should follow the ROAD program as all in Lucid. 
- Office Hours should follow the same as all the Operational Excellence team unless the Lean Coach or Sr. Lean Coach sets a different schedule. 
- Days off and vacations will be requested by the immediate supervisor (lean Coach or Sr. Lean Coach).
