
Logistics Maintenance Technician
The Logistics Engineering Maintenance Technician will work within the Kaizen lab team for the purpose of achieving a key result or group of aligned results. They must possess a general knowledge of mission critical directives and situations surrounding the Logistics engineering operations, process equipment, production line side facilities, lift assemblies, warehouse, material handling equipment being used by Logistics. They must help to develop strategies to meet team and company goals. Reports to Logistics engineering organization. The Technician must possess a working knowledge of standard automotive OEM process equipment, and related systems, be a problem solver, and be communicative and proactive in the execution of daily activities. Contribute to day-to-day operations and create reports to update the company in the event it is required. Must be able to perform under pressure, have sense of urgency, remain dynamic and understand urgency. The Technician must be able to practice teamwork and team building within our organization.
You Will:
- Operate, maintain, and repair process equipment and building facilities, including gravity flow racks, minomis, sequencing racks, pneumatic lifts, and related logistics systems across paint, BIW, and assembly areas.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including welding repairs on dollies, racks, and other logistics facilities, while ensuring compliance with EHS and safety standards.
- Coordinate fabrication, installation, and commissioning of new facilities and equipment, managing vendor scope, timelines, and in-house projects for launches and production areas.
- Manage spare parts inventory and lead-time systems, ensuring availability for critical equipment and supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
- Plan, schedule, and execute work orders and preventive maintenance programs, documenting activities and enforcing process compliance throughout operations.
- Lead modernization and continuous improvement initiatives, proactively implementing cost-saving measures and risk mitigation strategies for critical equipment.
- Support cross-functional departments and production needs, providing technical expertise, responsive communication, and professional reporting on incidents and corrective actions.
- Direct and manage contractors and vendors effectively, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Create and maintain documentation, including material lists, scope of work, spare parts records, and delivery reports for internal customers.
- Operate material handling and access equipment safely, including forklifts, tuggers, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and telehandlers, while adhering to all safety regulations.
You Bring:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- 3+ years process equipment maintenance experience and facilities, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Work involves moderate to heavy work in all types of weather.
- Flexibility to work 1st or 2nd shift
- There is frequent need to stand, stoop, walk, lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform other similar actions during the course of the workday.
- Desired Skills or Experience:
- Equipment installations, troubleshooting and commissioning
- Demonstrated Problem Solving and Troubleshooting Experience
- Basic Electricity; Electronics Knowledge; Training
- Be proficient in general office PC programs and equipment monitoring systems.
- Various power distribution systems and industrial busway
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precaution
Essential Physical Requirements:
- Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for 8–12 hours per shift on hard surfaces in a production environment.
- Manual Dexterity: Frequent use of hands for handling tools, assembling components, and operating machinery. Requires fine motor skills and grip strength.
- Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing 10–50 lbs. regularly; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs. with assistance.
- Reaching and Bending: Routine reaching above shoulders, bending, and twisting waist, and squatting as part of process and tasks.
- Repetitive Motions: Continuous arm, hand, and wrist movements for tasks such as fastening, positioning, and installing.
- Climbing: Occasional use of steps to access different height level areas.
- PPE Expectations: Must wear required PPE (safety shoes, gloves, protective sleeves, eye and hearing protection) as per company safety standards.
