From early product development through mass production, you will lead technical reviews, process development, Advanced Product Quality Planning activities, production qualification, and launch execution. You will assess supplier capabilities, identify manufacturing and quality risks, and drive corrective actions before those risks affect program timing or product performance. Success in this role will be measured by supplier readiness, process capability, production quality, and the timely completion of industrialization and launch milestones. The ideal candidate combines battery manufacturing knowledge with hands-on supplier development, automotive quality, and product launch experience. You will have direct influence on how advanced high-voltage battery technologies are industrialized and delivered at scale.
YOU WILL:
- Lead manufacturing-readiness assessments from sourcing and product concept through production launch, ensuring suppliers have the processes, equipment, capacity, controls, and technical capability required to meet program objectives
- Drive the development, qualification, and improvement of manufacturing processes for battery cells, modules, packs, or related high-voltage components, with a focus on scalability, repeatability, quality, and throughput
- Lead supplier APQP and PPAP activities, including the review and approval of Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEAs, Control Plans, Measurement System Analyses, capability studies, and production validation evidence
- Own supplier industrialization deliverables during prototype builds, production trials, qualification events, ramp-up, and mass-production launch, resolving issues that could affect product quality or delivery
- Partner with Battery Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Supply Chain, Design Engineering, and Program Management to align product requirements, supplier capabilities, and launch priorities
- Identify supplier manufacturing and quality risks early, establish data-driven mitigation plans, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and verified before key program and production milestones
YOU BRING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline
- A minimum of four years of experience in automotive manufacturing, supplier quality, supplier industrialization, product quality, or manufacturing engineering
- Hands-on experience supporting battery cell, module, or pack development from product concept through production launch
- Experience leading or supporting APQP, PPAP, supplier process audits, production-readiness assessments, or manufacturing qualification activities
- Working knowledge of automotive quality and manufacturing methodologies, including PFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA, process capability and structured problem-solving methods
Preferred:
- Experience working for or directly supporting a battery cell, module, pack, battery management system, or energy-storage-system manufacturer
- Experience launching lithium-ion battery manufacturing lines or supporting the industrialization of new battery products and processes
- Certified Quality Engineer, Certified Quality Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt, Six Sigma Black Belt, or an equivalent quality certification
- Experience conducting supplier audits and manufacturing-readiness assessments at global supplier facilities
- Experience supporting electric vehicle, hybrid vehicle, energy storage, or high-voltage battery programs
