As a Sr. Field Quality Engineer – Closures, you will serve as the technical bridge between customer feedback, service observations, and engineering teams to drive rapid root cause identification, corrective action development, and continuous quality improvement.
Success in this role means improving closure system performance, reducing warranty exposure, improving vehicle craftsmanship, and delivering measurable improvements in customer satisfaction through data-driven issue resolution and cross-functional collaboration.

Analyze warranty data, field quality information, service records, and repair trends to identify emerging closure-related concerns.
Cross-Functional Technical Interface
Partner closely with Body Engineering, Closures Engineering, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, Service Engineering, and Vehicle Validation teams.
Translate field observations into actionable technical problem statements supported by objective data.
Support engineering reviews, risk assessments, issue prioritization discussions, and corrective action planning.
Warranty & Field Data Analysis
Monitor closure-related warranty performance and identify recurring failure trends.
Quantify customer impact, repair frequency, warranty exposure, and issue severity.
Track issue occurrence across vehicle configurations, suppliers, production dates, and manufacturing locations.
Leverage field data to support prioritization and escalation decisions.
Issue Management & Corrective Actions
Manage closure-related field issues from identification through resolution.
Lead investigations involving customer dissatisfaction, repeat repairs, warranty spend, and quality escalations.
Support development and implementation of corrective actions.
Validate effectiveness of engineering changes and corrective actions through field monitoring and follow-up assessments.
Customer Experience & Quality Improvement
Drive improvements in perceived quality, exterior craftsmanship, durability, and customer satisfaction.
Support reduction of wind noise, water leaks, alignment concerns, rattles, squeaks, and closure operability issues.
Recommend improvements to inspection methods, diagnostics, repair procedures, manufacturing controls, and quality processes.
Root Cause Analysis & Problem Solving
Lead structured root cause investigations using established problem-solving methodologies.
Differentiate between design, supplier, manufacturing, assembly, and service-related contributors.
Support implementation and validation of permanent corrective actions.
Drive sustainable improvements that reduce recurrence and improve long-term product quality.
