The Sr. Production Control Support supports inventory control, and kitting activities for engineering and prototype build operations. Working under the guidance of Production Control Specialists, Lab Managers, and Technical Project Managers. This role helps ensure materials are available to support build schedules and engineering activities. The position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy, tracking parts, supporting procurement follow-up activities, and assisting with build readiness efforts. This is a hands-on role well suited for individuals looking to build experience in material management within a fast-paced prototype and R&D environment.
Role:
Material Planning & Readiness Support
- Support the review of engineering BOMs and build plans provided by Lab Managers and Technical Project Managers.
- Assist in validating material availability and procurement status for upcoming builds.
- Monitor material readiness and escalate potential shortages to senior team members.
- Support build preparation activities by tracking required parts and materials.
BOM Support & Configuration Management
- Assist with BOM validation and part-number verification.
- Support review of engineering changes, alternate parts, and material updates.
- Help maintain accurate records of BOM revisions and build configurations.
Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with GSMs, Buyers, and Logistics teams to monitor material deliveries.
- Follow up on open purchase orders and shipment status.
- Escalate delayed or at-risk materials to Material Specialists and stakeholders.
- Support material requests for prototype and low-volume builds.
Inventory & Material Tracking
- Monitor inventory levels and incoming shipments to support build schedules.
- Track material movement between warehouses, labs, and staging areas.
- Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with corrective actions.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and transaction audits.
Kitting & Line Support
- Support kitting activities based on build schedules and technician requirements.
- Create and process Pick Orders in SAP.
- Prepare and maintain kitting lists, pull sheets, and material labels.
- Respond to material requests from technicians and engineering teams.
- Ensure kits are accurately staged and available when needed.
Reporting & Communication
- Update material tracking tools, dashboards, and status reports.
- Communicate part shortages, late deliveries, and inventory issues to the team.
- Participate in prototype readiness meetings and provide material status updates.
- Maintain accurate documentation of material transactions and build support activities.
Change Control Support
- Assist with Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) that impact material requirements.
- Support the tracking of material substitutions and part revisions.
- Maintain documentation to support traceability requirements.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred.
- Equivalent experience in material control, inventory management, warehouse operations, or manufacturing support may be considered.
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or production support.
- Experience in manufacturing, prototype, engineering, or supply chain environments is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Smartsheet is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Base Pay Range (hourly)
$38 - $52 USD
Compensation & Benefits: Lucid offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid time off; paid holidays, paid sick leave; and a 401(k) retirement plan. Hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid time off, and salaried/exempt employee accrue up to 160 hours paid time off. Eligible employees may also participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual cash incentive program. Incentive and equity awards, if applicable, are determined based on individual performance, role scope, market considerations, and overall company results, in accordance with the terms of the applicable plans.
