Staff Product Manager, Eligibility & Payments

About us:

Luma Health was founded on the idea that patients should easily be able to connect to their healthcare provider in a way that’s modern and mobile-first.

For doctors, it means a full schedule, better patient outcomes, and caring for more patients. For clinics, it means a more automated practice, more revenue, and higher MIPS scores. For patients, it means getting the care they need and experiencing next-level patient care.

Needing to see a doctor is hard. Being able to see one shouldn’t be.

The Role:

This role owns the strategy and execution for Luma’s Eligibility, Prior Auth, and Payments product suite—capabilities that help customers verify coverage, secure authorization, and collect payment with less manual work and fewer delays. You’ll define end-to-end workflows across patient, payer, and EHR touchpoints: eligibility checks and re-checks, benefit visibility, prior auth initiation and status tracking, denial/appeals handoffs, payment estimation and collection, and the operational guardrails (automation + human-in-the-loop) that keep revenue-cycle work accurate and compliant.

You’ll translate market and customer needs into crisp roadmaps and PRDs, establish KPIs and escalation paths (e.g., approval turnaround time, denial rate, time-to-collect), and partner cross-functionally across Engineering, Design, Ops, Sales, and CS on integrations, packaging/pricing, and enablement.

What YOU will do at Luma Health

  • Own the vision & roadmap for Luma’s Eligibility, Prior Auth, and Payments products—spanning payer connectivity, EHR touchpoints, workflow automation, and operational controls (rules, exceptions, auditability).
  • Design the core capabilities and experiences that make RCM workflows reliable: eligibility checks/re-checks, benefits visibility, prior auth initiation and status tracking, document/data collection, tasking and handoffs, payment estimation and collection, and clear exception handling for edge cases.
  • Customer discovery & UX: run research with revenue cycle, front desk, referrals, and care ops teams; turn messy real-world processes into simple, resilient flows that reduce manual work and minimize errors.
  • Insights & experimentation: define KPIs, instrumentation, and experiments; analyze fallout points (payer timeouts, data mismatches, auth delays, denials, incomplete patient inputs, payment abandonment) to drive prioritization and iteration.
  • Go-to-market readiness: partner with CS/Sales/Marketing on packaging, pricing, enablement, and launch plans; create demos, ROI narratives, and rollout/migration paths from current processes and tools.
  • Cross-functional leadership: coordinate across Engineering, Security, Legal/Compliance, Support, and Partnerships to ship compliant, scalable integrations and ensure strong operational readiness.

Deliver measurable outcomes: increase clean eligibility pass rates, reduce time-to-auth and denial rates, improve conversion to scheduled/cleared visits, raise time-to-collect performance, and keep exception/backlog rates low while maintaining compliance and trust.

Who You Are

  • 8+ years of product management experience, including building and scaling Eligibility, Prior Auth, and/or Payments products and/or adjacent workflow automation platforms in complex, regulated environments.
  • BA/BS Degree required
  • Experience in gathering business insights and identifying trends from data
    • Ability to use data to inform and support critical decisions
    • SQL skills highly preferred
  • Entrepreneurial minded self-starter who is able to function in a lean product management structure in a company with aggressive growth goals
  • Superior communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrable experience positioning and launching differentiated B2B software that exceeds business expectations (ideally in healthcare).
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Hands-on with LLM/AI products (prompt design, agentic automation,  tools/integrations, evaluation, red-teaming, safety guardrails) and clear criteria for human escalation.
  • Ability to write clear PRDs and sequence complex deliveries.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, influence without authority, and communicate crisply with executives and customers.
