Materials Program Manager
As a Materials Program Manager at Lunar Energy, you'll be a strategic leader in our mission to transition homes to 100% clean energy. You will be the single point of contact for the program's material health, from clear-to-build to end-of-life, ensuring the seamless alignment of our supply chain to support aggressive product development and launch timelines. You will take ownership of our material readiness and supply chain execution, ensuring a diversified and continuous supply for our innovative products. This is a high-impact role where you will not only manage material availability but also serve as a key business partner to our engineering, finance, and product teams. You'll be responsible for building a robust and resilient global supply chain that directly contributes to our product roadmap and business growth. - Clear-to-Build (CTB) Management: Lead the CTB process, providing clear material availability status to stakeholders and driving executive-level reporting on program readiness.
- New Product Material Readiness: Own material readiness for New Product Introduction (NPI). Ensure Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy, manage material for engineering and production builds, and coordinate supply chain readiness for new product launches.
- Shortage Resolution: Proactively identify, track, and resolve material shortages. Drive cross-functional teams including supply chain, engineering, and suppliers to find and implement solutions to ensure production continuity.
- Allocation and Supply Strategy: Play a key role in the allocation of components in tight supply. Provide an aggregated view of supply versus demand to drive allocation decisions and communicate the strategy to all stakeholders.
- Excess & Obsolete (E&O) Management: Lead the phase-out of obsolete parts and the transition to new production materials. Identify and mitigate E&O in advance to ensure optimal company decisions.
- Serve as a Strategic Partner: Work hand-in-hand with engineering, operations and finance teams to provide expert insights on supply chain capabilities and ensure alignment on program goals.
Desired Skills:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in materials program management, supply chain, or strategic sourcing within a complex hardware manufacturing environment.
- Expertise: Domain expertise in materials planning, inventory control, and new product introductions. Experience working with contract manufacturers is highly desirable.
- Systems Proficiency: Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, SAP, homegrown systems).
- Education: Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related technical field.
- Drive and Resilience: Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, with the confidence to drive complex projects to completion.
- Strategic Acumen: The ability to analyze complex data, create sophisticated material strategies, and present a compelling business case to executive stakeholders.
- Influence and Leadership: Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with the confidence to influence decisions and challenge the status quo to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Analytical Skills: Advanced modeling and predictive analytical skills; proficiency in MS Excel with a deep understanding of its techniques. SQL experience is a plus.

Our Compensation Philosophy: Our goal is to ensure that all Lunar Energy employees are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Pay Transparency for Pay Equity Act for California applicants. The salary range estimate for this position depending on level of experience is: $110,000 - $145,000 USD.
The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
