The Retail Real Estate and Acquisition Leasing Manager - US/CAN plays an essential role in the real estate management of Lush's North American shops. The ideal candidate will play an integral role on Lush's Real Estate team, managing and negotiating deals on store relocations, expansions and new opportunities.. Your core RESPONSIBILITIES will include:

  • Manage the broader real estate process from market strategy and site selection through lease negotiations and lease maintenance (renewals, critical dates, etc.) for our Retail, Corporate, Manufacturing and Distribution premises.
  • Partner with the Property Leadership team and Retail to update the comprehensive strategy for all lease actions of existing shops.
  • Develop an annual pipeline of projects including new locations, relocations, renewals, refits, refreshes and all other lease actions.
  • Responsible for the management and development of Leasing Representative who coordinates leasing workflow and renewal transactions.
  • Secure key retail locations across the US for Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics by acting as one of the primary contacts for leasing questions and concerns
  • Obtain information on potential sites and provide recommendations  to the Head of Property.  
  • Evaluate proposed rent packages to determine whether deals should be concluded.
  • Key liaison working with landlords and brokers to negotiate the best economic terms possible
  • Coordinate schedules with Construction, Design, Repair & Maintenance and Retail.
  • Leads the Leasing Analyst to analyse data for existing shops, size, sales for co-tenants, mall size, demographics, etc.
  • Partner with retail finance to assist in determining sales estimates for new shops and profitability.
  • Expand US/CAN landlords relationships.
  • Work closely with construction/design/to ensure on time opening of new shops, relocations and remodels.
  • Manage the legal process for all leases with internal and external attorneys.
  • Provide guidance and support to finance and retail operations with respect to lease renewals, store relocations, etc.
  • Foster, build relationships and communicate with a network of industry real estate professionals to cultivate and educate the Lush team on current trends and to assist in creating a well-rounded retail portfolio.
  • Support Retail & Maintenance team and Retail Operations to resolve any store issues and concerns that impact day to day operations

 

You bring the following QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • At least 5 years previous experience in real estate either within the retail industry or with Leasing/ Brokerage firm representing retail tenants
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the area of legal and or lease administration, Marketing/communications, Retail Finance or Business Administration.
  • Ability to be solution oriented, while supporting Lush values
  • Outstanding experience creating and finalizing best in class landlord negotiation and agreements.
  • Excellent organizational skills  
  • Ability to see the larger global picture and take initiative on projects
  • Empathetic and supportive of the team effort
  • Must be based in Canada or the United States with the ability to travel domestically and internationally (must hold a valid passport) 

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Lease Management Software
  • Experience working with both US and Canadian Landlords/brokers

Job Type: Full-time Permanent role. 

Job Location: Open to candidates located within Canada or United States

Travel Requirement: Remote role, with frequent travel required (1-2 trips per month) around North America, potentially globally based on business needs.

Base Salary Ranges:

  • Canada: $135,000 - $145,000 CAD
  • US: $130,000 - $142,500 USD

This salary range is based on an assessment of the local market and may vary depending on the successful candidate's location. This range is based on base salary and does not include additional bonus program and total rewards eligibility.
