Sr. Risk Manager
About the Position
We are seeking experienced and successful Sr. Risk Managers who will lead the implementation of processes to ensure safety, resilience, and compliance with heavy civil projects or programs.
This posting is for future long-term, full-time, on-site positions located in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the creation of a risk management plan, risk policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for risk management including risk identification, assessment, and mitigation planning.
- Develop risk register format including scoring system, fields to track, and risk breakdown structures.
- Manage the client’s update cycles, continuous risk monitoring techniques, reports, and dashboards.
- Lead risk workshop sessions for risk identification and planning.
- Lead uncertainty ranging sessions to support a Monte Carlo analysis.
- Perform cost Monte Carlo analysis (quantitative) on the project or program cost estimate.
- Perform schedule audits on project schedules to ensure data is “risk ready.”
- Perform schedule Monte Carlo analysis on client’s schedule.
- Manage the interaction between all project stakeholders relative to risk management.
- Manage contract risk including coordination of contract review with legal, bonds, insurance, etc.
- Review and analyze terms and conditions associated with proposed Controlled Insurance Programs.
- Coordinates operations & management, safety, human resources, legal and other stakeholders.
- Develop and implement governance structures for risk management.
- Conduct training sessions for team members on risk management practices.
- Collaborate with IT to ensure data security and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 15+ years’ experience in risk management in architecture, engineering, or construction industries.
- Experience managing large programs (e.g., $500M+) utilizing quality and risk-based thinking.
- Experience working on teams for large, complex infrastructure design-build programs.
- Experience with cost and schedule Monte Carlo software programs such as Primavera Risk.
- Working knowledge of schedule review software such as Acumen Fuse.
- Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera P6.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
- Project Management certifications from major organizations such as PMI or AACEi.
- Transit project and design-build experience.
- Experience with and/or training in ISO 9001.
Compensation Details
The salary range listed for this role is $72-96 per hour ($150-200k annually). The final salary offered is based on multiple factors and is thoughtfully aligned with each candidate’s level of experience, breadth of skills, total education achieved, certifications/licenses that have been obtained, etc.
