As a clinician-led, U.S.-based organization, we put people first - helping patients feel seen and supported through faster therapy starts, dedicated care coordination, and meaningful collaboration. Our commitment to inclusion, diversity, equity, and advancement (IDEA) is central to our culture, ensuring every team member feels valued and empowered to make a difference.
We’re looking for a Patient Access Liaison (PAL) – Active who wants their work to mean something — someone who brings empathy, precision, and follow‑through to protecting patients’ ongoing access to care.
Compensation: Up to $29.00 per hour, based on experience
Location: On‑site in Overland Park, KS
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM CST or EST
Why This Role Matters
The PAL – Active plays a critical role in ensuring patients do not experience interruptions in therapy due to insurance or benefit changes. By proactively monitoring eligibility and authorization status, this role helps remove barriers before they impact patient care.
In this role, your work will:
- Help patients remain on therapy without delays or disruption
- Provide clarity and reassurance during insurance or coverage changes
- Support care teams through accurate documentation and proactive communication
Every follow‑up helps safeguard a patient’s ability to continue treatment with confidence.
What You’ll Do
In this role, you will:
- Monitor monthly insurance eligibility and authorization status for assigned active patients
- Review CareTend queues and ensure all authorizations are current and on file before service delivery
- Identify coverage changes and work directly with patients, sales teams, and physicians to obtain updated insurance or clinical documentation
- Notify Reimbursement Specialists when new benefits verification or prior authorizations are required
- Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providers, and field partners, answering benefits and authorization questions as they arise
- Collaborate closely with reimbursement, nurse coordination, pharmacy operations, and data entry teams to keep cases moving forward
- Communicate potential delays proactively to downstream teams
- Document all patient, provider, and internal communications accurately in systems of record
- Track referral status, volume, and workload metrics to organize daily activities and meet service goals
- Support PAL‑Pending duties as needed to ensure intake coverage and continuity
What We’re Looking For
You may be a great fit if you bring:
- 1–3 years of experience supporting patient referrals, prescription services, or reimbursement in infusion or specialty therapies
- Experience delivering high‑quality customer service to patients and healthcare providers
- Familiarity with electronic health records or pharmacy patient management systems
- Proficiency in medical or pharmacy terminology
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Willingness to travel up to 5% as needed
Bonus Points If You Have
- Experience supporting prescribers, patients, and field teams in infusion or specialty therapy environments
- General understanding of insurance benefits, payer requirements, and verification processes
- Familiarity with infusion therapy workflows and patient needs
