GENERAL DESCRIPTION

LUX is a nationwide, independently owned infusion provider with decades of experience supporting patients on specialty medication. Our compassionate care team helps patients navigate the often-challenging healthcare environment. We treat our patients like family and get them started on therapy quickly. We work closely with them, as well as their families and healthcare providers, throughout the patient journey, staying focused on optimal clinical outcomes.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in healthcare administration or related field preferred
  • Prior experience in a medical office, infusion center, or healthcare setting preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorization processes preferred
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training or support at other LUX Infusion locations (e.g., Palmer or Fairbanks)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive and professional first impression
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, including verifying insurance, collecting co-pays, and updating demographic information
  • Schedule and coordinate infusion appointments to optimize treatment suite utilization and align with clinical staff availability
  • Answer incoming calls and respond to patient inquiries, providing general information under leadership guidance
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient records within EMR systems
  • Prepare treatment areas by organizing necessary documentation, supplies, and daily schedules
  • Assist with insurance verification and pre-authorization processes as needed
  • Monitor and order office and clinical supplies to maintain an organized and well-stocked environment
  • Uphold infection control and safety protocols in reception and waiting areas
  • Provide administrative support, including faxing, scanning, and filing documentation
  • Support customer service efforts such as appointment reminders and resolving scheduling conflicts
  • Participate in ongoing training to remain current on policies, procedures, and systems
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Support special projects or initiatives related to patient experience or clinic operations

·       Assist with onboarding or training of new administrative staff as needed

·       Provide coverage at other clinic locations on an as-needed basis

KNOWLEDEGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

Communication Skills:

·       Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and healthcare staff

·       Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service with empathy and professionalism

·       Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and maintain composure under pressure

Computer Skills 

·       Become and remain proficient is all programs necessary for execution.

·       Proficiency in EMR systems and scheduling software

·       Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)

·       Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies

BioMatrix Pay Range/Rate

$22 - $26 USD
