Why This Role Matters

The Regional Director, AIC Operations provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and financial accountability across multiple ambulatory infusion center (AIC) locations. This role is responsible for driving operational performance, improving site profitability, optimizing resource utilization, and ensuring regulatory compliance across a multi-site infusion network.
The Regional Director partners closely with clinical leadership, finance, revenue cycle, intake, pharmacy, scheduling, and business development teams to execute scalable operational strategies that improve patient access, treatment growth, operational efficiency, and margin performance. This role combines remote operational management with routine on-site leadership presence to support branch performance, workforce engagement, and expansion readiness.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple ambulatory infusion center locations within an assigned region
  • Drive operational performance, scalability, and consistency across a multi-site infusion network
  • Support growth initiatives through operational readiness, workforce planning, and performance optimization

Operational Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across multiple infusion branch locations utilizing a hybrid leadership
    model combining remote management and routine on-site visits
  • Drive performance against key operational metrics, including:
  • Treatment volume growth
  • Referral conversion rates
  • Chair utilization
  • Site profitability and margin performance
  • Labor productivity
  • Inventory accuracy
  • Scheduling efficiency
  • Patient satisfaction scores

• Analyze operational dashboards, financial reports, and KPI trends to identify opportunities for
revenue growth, expense reduction, and workflow optimization
• Lead operational performance improvement initiatives to increase throughput, scalability, and
margin performance
• Develop and implement standardized operational workflows to improve consistency,
efficiency, and quality outcomes
• Support operational planning, staffing, and readiness for new branch openings, acquisitions,
and integration initiatives

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead and support a distributed, multi-site operations team across remote and on-site infusion
    environments
  • Conduct performance reviews, leadership rounding, and operational coaching sessions
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, collaboration, and patient-centered
    care.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and talent development across the region
  • Partner with site leaders to establish measurable goals and performance expectations

Financial & Business Management Responsibilities

  • Maintain accountability for regional operational and financial performance, including revenue
    growth, gross profit, labor utilization, and operating expense control
  • Bring thoughtfulness, reliability, and follow‑through to your work
  • Identify and implement better ways to serve patients, providers, and teammates
  • Monitor site-level P&Ls, budget adherence, and operational spend
  • Partner with finance and revenue cycle teams to improve reimbursement performance, reduce denials, and optimize collections
  • Identify opportunities to improve chair utilization, scheduling efficiency, referral pull-through, and infusion capacity
  • Utilize financial and operational data to support forecasting, staffing models, and strategic growth planning
  • Drive initiatives that improve EBITDA contribution and long-term site scalability
  • Support inventory optimization efforts, including medication reconciliation, waste reduction, purchasing oversight, and supply chain coordination

Compliance & Quality Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, accreditation, and organizational requirements related to infusion services, medication handling, and patient safety
  • Partner with clinical leadership to maintain alignment with USP standards and infusion best practices
  • Conduct operational audits, safety reviews, and compliance assessments during site visits
  • Implement and monitor corrective action plans as needed
  • Maintain readiness for accreditation surveys, regulatory inspections, and internal audits
  • Ensure operational processes support safe medication storage, handling, documentation, and inventory management

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with nursing leadership, intake, reimbursement, pharmacy, compliance, finance, HR, scheduling, and quality teams
  • Collaborate on patient access workflows, clinical coordination, revenue cycle initiatives, and operational improvements
  • Serve as the primary operational escalation point for issues impacting patient care, workflow efficiency, staffing, or branch performance
  • Support business development and provider relationship initiatives contributing to referral growth and regional expansion

Strategic Planning & Growth

  • Lead operational preparation and integration for new branch openings, acquisitions, and regional expansions
  • Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, patient access, and infusion service capabilities
  • Support implementation of scalable infrastructure, reporting tools, and standardized workflows across a growing network
  • Evaluate operational technologies and process improvement initiatives that support sustained growth

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Healthcare Administration, Operations, or related field—or equivalent operational leadership experience
  • Operational leadership experience in healthcare, infusion services, ambulatory care, specialty pharmacy, or multi-site healthcare operations
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational metrics, financial performance, and multi-site accountability
  • Strong understanding of healthcare operations, compliance standards, staffing models, and performance management
  • Experience leading distributed or hybrid teams
  • Strong analytical, financial, and operational problem-solving skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel routinely to infusion branch locations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ambulatory infusion, specialty pharmacy, or similar patient-service healthcare environments
  •  Experience supporting de novo site launches, acquisitions, or operational integrations
  • Knowledge of infusion reimbursement models, margin drivers, and revenue cycle workflows
  •  Experience with KPI dashboards, analytics, and performance reporting
  • Knowledge of USP standards and medication handling requirements
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience

Pay Range/Rate

$165,000 - $175,000 USD
