Global Human Resources Director

The Global Human Resources Director is responsible for leading and overseeing the human resources function across multiple countries and regions on a global scale, including North America, Asia, and Europe. The primary focus is to drive company HR initiatives, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives. This role provides strategic leadership, collaborates with regional leaders, and works closely with key stakeholders of the ownership group on projects and initiatives. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of global HR practices, and the ability to navigate complex international HR landscapes.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the global HR strategy, aligning business objectives and driving cultural alignment across regions.
- Oversee the implementation and standardization of HR policies, processes, and programs globally.
- As a member of the senior leadership team, collaborate with the leadership team to align HR initiatives with business goals, foster employment engagement, and drive talent management.
- Lead and support organizational development and change management initiatives globally.
- Drive the development and implementation of HR programs, such as performance management, succession planning, employee development, and global talent reviews.
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, regulations, and employment practices across various jurisdictions.
- Develop and monitor key HR metrics to assess HR effectiveness, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
- Lead global HR projects, such as HR system implementations or modifications, HR process harmonization, and global talent acquisition strategies.
- Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including dispute resolution, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
- Manager and oversee compensation programs, ensuring competitiveness and compliance globally.
- Collaborate with regional HR teams to support employee engagement initiatives, diversity and inclusion programs, and employee wellness initiatives.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, such as consultants and service providers, to ensure effective HR service delivery.
- Remain updated with changes in global HR regulations and labor laws, ensuring compliance and mitigating HR-related risks.
- Ensures compliance at local level with major state and federal employment and labor laws (FMLA, FLSA, ADA, Sexual Harassment, etc.) and provides “hands on” guidance to supervision. Maintains all systems, records, and transactions to comply with regulatory reporting including HIPAA, SOX, E-Verify.
- Promote safety through active participation and support of company safety policies and programs.
Required Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities for Consideration as a Candidate:
- Must possess B.S. degree in Human Resources or related field; or an equivalent of education and experience.
- 7+ years experience in Human Resource, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven experience as an HR leader, overseeing HR functions across multiple countries and/or regions.
- Must be knowledgeable about employment laws and regulatory issues (i.e. ADA, FMLA, EEO, AAP, etc.)
- Experience working in diverse cultural environments, managing cross-functional teams.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive change and improvements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Proven track record of implementing and driving HR programs, such as talent management, performance management, and employee development.
- Ability to navigate complex international landscapes, adapt to changing regulations, and manage HR-related risks.
- Proficient in using HRIS and payroll systems; ability to drive system improvements.
Preferred or Additional, Experience, Education, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in manufacturing.
- Workday HRIS knowledge and experience.
- ADP payroll system knowledge and experience.
- SHRM certifications.
