About the Position

We are seeking an energetic Regional Sales Manager to join our growing organization. As a member of the Agronomy team, you will report to Sr. Director of Agronomy and support the launch of a high performance line of sustainable ingredients into the Agronomy market. You will be responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with customers, promoting company products, and generating new business. This position increases sales and profitability by growing the customer base and increasing current customer sales through exceptional customer service. This position is responsible for the cultivation of sales opportunities from new through existing customers and driving the full end-to-end sales cycle (opening, execution and closing).

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Generate sales of Lygos sustainable products to agronomy markets to drive revenue in this segment
  • Manage distribution network to meet sales targets, drive new leads and expand our footprint
  • Manage Hubspot customer database and sales funnel
  • Establish a pipeline of sales opportunities and progress those opportunities to close
  • Lead customer presentations with our Application Leaders
  • Attend industry conferences, trades shows and other events to generate leads and engage with customers 
  • Establish cross-functional/multi-level relationships with customers to foster collaboration and new product innovation

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Prior experience in sales of crop inputs & protection products will be essential to the success of this position
  • Prior and current experience with crop systems and trends in California with a focus on irrigation and specialty crops
  • Ability and proven track record of being able to close the sale
  • Knowledge and networks of retail customer business as well as agro-chemical distribution networks
  • Understanding of general plant pathology concepts or field scouting experience
  • Motivated, innovative thinking, entrepreneurial character and goal driven
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture related discipline
  • Track record of developing pipelines, with the ability to progress and close sales opportunities
  • Experience using CRM systems to compile customer information, interactions and track sales opportunities

Compensation and Benefits: Lygos offers highly competitive salaries, stock options, bonus and benefits, including medical and dental insurance, unlimited paid time off, and 401(k).

Salary Range: $100,000-$125,000/yr. base with 20% bonus  -  Actual pay will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to location, skill, experience, and performance.

Location information: This role is a remote with the preferred location being in the Central Valley, CA; expected domestic travel (30-50%).
