Lyra is seeking a highly motivated and ambitious M&A Associate to join our dynamic holding company team in Chicago, Illinois. As an M&A Associate, you will play a critical role in supporting our acquisition strategy and work closely with the Lyra executive team. Your primary responsibilities will include independently managing M&A due diligence processes, leading both financial and operational due diligence for new acquisitions and collaborating with business owners to drive growth post-investment.

You will have the opportunity to work directly with the Director of M&A and Strategic Finance, as well as with a diverse group of professionals, including senior executives, seasoned managers, and entrepreneurs. We are looking for candidates who are ready to take on significant responsibility early in their career and make an impact by guiding businesses over the long term.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Lyra executive team and Director of M&A to refine and execute our M&A strategy, ensuring alignment with organic growth and MOIC goals.
• Lead financial and operational due diligence for potential acquisitions.
• Support the ongoing refinement of the investment thesis through post-mortem analysis and performance monitoring of acquisitions.
• Manage relationships with sellers throughout the diligence process to ensure successful closings.
• Work closely with Lyra operations leaders and sellers post-close to ensure smooth onboarding of new acquisitions to the Lyra platform.
• Support execution of post-close value creation initiatives to realize the full potential of the investment thesis.
• Partner with the Evergreen sourcing team to evaluate and identify new acquisition opportunities.

Requirements and Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to work autonomously with an ownership mindset, taking initiative and responsibility for outcomes.
• Exceptional emotional intelligence (EQ) with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at all organizational levels.
• Proven leadership experience and resilience in overcoming challenges and adversity.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills, with the ability to make decisions with incomplete or evolving information.
• Solid understanding of financial statements and key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Humble, accountable, and growth-minded, with a positive attitude and a competitive intensity.
• Proven track record of achieving promotions or recognition at a previous employer.
• Previous experience in M&A, with exposure to private equity-led deal processes.
• Undergraduate or graduate education from a top-ranked school.

The base compensation for this role is $110,000-$125,000 per year + bonus. Candidates are expected to reside in the Chicagoland area, as this role hosts a hybrid work schedule in the Chicago, Illinois office.
