Financial Controller - Iron Oak Technologies

Lyra Technology Group is seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Financial Controller to lead the finance and accounting functions at one of our operating companies, Iron Oak Technologies, based in Marietta, GA. As the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in shaping the financial direction and supporting the strategic growth of the business. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a fast-growing tech organization, with significant visibility and exposure to key decision-makers and leadership.

The Financial Controller will be the driving force behind the company's finance and accounting operations, collaborating closely with both the U.S.-based accounting team and cross-functional teams across the organization. This individual will manage the day-to-day accounting functions, implement process improvements, and oversee the development of financial reports for a variety of stakeholders. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee critical financial functions, including budgeting, audits, and month-end close processes, ensuring full compliance with U.S. GAAP accounting principles.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, invoicing, fixed assets, collections, monthly reconciliations, and sales and use tax.
  • Develop and produce financial statements, reports, and analysis for internal stakeholders, corporate leadership, and external partners. Provide insights into key performance metrics to support strategic business decisions.
  • Lead the review and continuous improvement of accounting systems and processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains. Establish and enforce standard operating procedures for the accounting department.
  • Play an integral role in the customer billing process, including managing monthly and annual pricing updates, billing-related incentives, and commissions.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for key business relationships, including banking institutions, vendors, landlords, and suppliers, ensuring smooth communication and financial operations.
  • Take on special projects as needed, providing expertise and support to business initiatives related to financial strategy and operations.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)
  • Extensive experience in financial management, including accounting operations, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Proven success in managing a team and handling multiple accounting functions simultaneously.
  • Experience with financial systems and process optimization, with a focus on improving operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and engage effectively with external stakeholders.
  • A hands-on, self-motivated, and detail-oriented approach, with a proactive and solution-focused mindset.
  • Experience in the Managed Service Provider (MSP) industry is a plus but not required.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel.

This role will operate in a hybrid capacity, based at Iron Oak’s headquarters in Marietta, GA and is targeting a base compensation of $80,000-$90,000 per year.
