About The Position

One of our operating companies, Lancom, is looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer or Pod Lead to join their team in Auckland.

In this role, you will lead the delivery of secure, scalable, and high-performing AWS cloud solutions. Senior candidates may take on additional responsibilities, including mentoring cloud engineers and supporting team development.

You will play a key role in driving customer outcomes, service excellence, automation and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation and optimisation of AWS cloud environments
• Provide technical guidance and support for cloud infrastructure, migrations, and modernisation projects
• Act as an escalation point for cloud incidents and technical challenges
• Champion Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation) and automation-first practices
• Drive cloud security, resilience, scalability and cost optimisation initiatives
• Build trusted relationships with customers and provide technical advisory support
• Participate in service reviews, strategic planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Contribute to the development of repeatable frameworks, standards, and best practices

Skills required

• AWS cloud engineering experience across compute, networking, storage, security and identity services
• Experience designing, implementing and supporting cloud infrastructure in production environments
• Knowledge of cloud migration and transformation projects
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation)
• Scripting and automation skills (PowerShell, Python, or similar)
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Previous leadership experience is advantageous, but we welcome applications from senior engineers looking to step into their first leadership role
