Junior Full Stack Developer
Much of what you need to know about minds + assembly is captured in the name itself: we think, we create, and (+) we put things together. It’s really that simple—and that shockingly different. Of course, the simplicity of our name belies the depth of what we deliver to our most honored (and often overjoyed) clients. Our work is consistently at a higher caliber than they are used to, simply because we push ourselves to think and build differently. Combine this with an obsessive attention to client service, and you arrive at a place where we stand alone among agencies. Arrogant? No. Confident? Of course, but only because we’ve put together a team of people who are good AF in every way.
We are looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer who is eager to learn, excited to build, and ready to grow within a fast-paced agency environment. You will support the development team across a variety of client projects, from websites and landing pages to digital tools and interactive experiences. This role is ideal for someone with foundational development skills who wants mentorship, exposure to multiple technologies, and the opportunity to strengthen both front end and back end capabilities while contributing meaningful work from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support development of websites, landing pages, microsites, and custom applications under the guidance of senior developers.
- Translate wireframes and design files into responsive, accessible front end experiences using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Assist in building and maintaining WordPress and other CMS driven websites.
- Contribute to back end development tasks including API integrations, data handling, and basic server side functionality.
- Help troubleshoot bugs, QA site features, and ensure smooth deployments.
- Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, strategists, and fellow developers.
- Follow established coding standards, workflows, and documentation practices.
- Participate in technical discussions, sprint planning, and team problem solving.
- Stay curious and proactive in learning new tools, frameworks, and best practices.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 0–2 years of full stack or front end/back end development experience (internships, freelance, school projects, or personal projects count).
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web development fundamentals.
- Basic familiarity with at least one backend language (PHP, Node.js, .NET, Ruby, or similar).
- Experience with WordPress development (themes, templates, or customizations) is a plus.
- Understanding of RESTful APIs and integrating third party services.
- Comfort using Git and common development workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to ask questions.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.
- Exposure to CMS platforms beyond WordPress such as AEM or Drupal.
- Familiarity with cloud hosting platforms or DevOps concepts.
- Basic understanding of accessibility, SEO, and performance best practices.
- Coursework or experience in highly regulated industries is a plus.
- Understanding of Agile or similar project methodologies.
What We Look For:
- A motivated developer who is hungry to learn and excited to take on new challenges.
- Someone who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys solving problems with a team.
- A proactive contributor who takes feedback well and is committed to continuous improvement.
- A builder at heart who takes pride in their work and wants to grow into a well-rounded full stack developer
At minds + assembly, the engine of our business is commercial invention. We approach every project—actually, every aspect of our work—as an opportunity to dip our toes into the revitalizing stream of the new. The original conception of our agency (which has since been realized) was that of a happy workshop, a place where the mind and hands are free to construct brilliant new things for our clients. Yet, we never forget that we are in fact a business. Everything we do is to further the commercial goals of our clients, whether that is to sell a product or an idea. To achieve this, we continue to add only the best people—those who have the right talent, temperament, and teamwork orientation—to further our collective goals. Then we ask that each person adhere to two simple and equally important principles: uncompromising standards and unconditional support. In other words, we push each other, hard, to produce the best work possible, yet always with the knowledge that we have each other’s backs.
We’re looking for people with curiosity and expertise, and most of all, a positive attitude. If that sounds like you, send website links, portfolios, resumes, and passion projects to hello@mna.co
