POSITION OVERVIEW:
M18 is seeking an Account Executive to join our Hospitality team. This position provides a unique opportunity for an early career communication professional to join a talented and motivated team working on some of the leading hospitality and food & beverage projects in the country. You will support a variety of strategic communications plans by owning media outreach and supporting client and account management. This role is ideal for candidates with 2-4 years of experience or personal interest in hospitality, architecture, food & beverage and design.
Role location: This role is based in our New York, N.Y. office on a hybrid basis, in-person at least one day per week
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
As an Account Executive, you will:
- Contribute to the creation of strategies, press releases, timelines, reports and other collateral for clients
- Establish and build relationships with local, national and regional media outlets
- Ensure press reports and call agendas/recaps are sent to clients to show results and press coverage
- Craft and send pitches to relevant media outlets about client activities
- Train and supervise interns or junior staff and delegate work as required
- Monitor incoming press coverage
- Maintain and create media lists and editorial calendars
- Support with general administrative duties; i.e., copying, filing and phone calls as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 2 years of full time experience in PR, with agency experience preferred
- Experience pitching the media and demonstrated success securing coverage for clients
- Creative writing experience including press releases, media pitches and social media content
- Strong aesthetic, point of view and attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Photoshop
- Exemplary working knowledge of all social and digital media platforms
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines
COMPENSATION
M18 offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals.
Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $63,000-$67,000.
