ABOUT THIS ROLE

M18 is seeking a Director to join our Real Estate team. The Director will lead daily client relations, plan and execute day-to-day project deliverables, support and lead junior staff, and conceptualize strategies, pitches, media placements and other promotional initiatives unrelated to earned media. This person will work closely with client leads and internal staff, delegating to peers and junior staff and develop and advance strategy with senior leaders. This is a great opportunity for someone who is well versed in the world of media, has a passion for cities and the built environment, and wants to take the lead on client initiatives and work.

Role location: This role is based in our New York, N.Y. office on a hybrid basis, in-person at least one day per week.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

As a Director you will:

  • Develop and implement strategic communications campaigns across multiple high-profile client accounts
  • Lead day-to-day client relationships across multiple accounts, serving as a key point of contact and trusted advisor
  • Drive earned media efforts, engaging with top-tier and trade reporters to secure impactful coverage
  • Write and edit persuasive external and internal documents such as press releases, op-eds, fact sheets, talking points, editorial board memos, and communications plans
  • Help to conceptualize and execute events, brand partnerships and other promotional activities on behalf of clients
  • Manage internal client teams and mentor junior staff

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 years of strategic communications experience: in-house, media or journalism; PR agency experience preferred
  • Deep experience in media relations and an interest in PR for corporate clients
  • Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to prioritize work streams and track progress across multiple teams
  • An expert multitasker. Project briefs change, deadlines move. It’s the nature of the business, and not only can you keep up with our fast-paced process, you thrive off of it. You have an ability to handle multiple projects at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail
  • Strong writing skills. Your background in written communication includes extensive experience developing sharp, compelling online content
  • A team player. You have an ability to work with a team to meet group objectives.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel

COMPENSATION

M18 offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. 

Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $105,000- $115,000
