ABOUT THIS ROLE

M18 is seeking an Associate Vice President to join our Real Estate team. The AVP will serve as a strategic driver across multiple high-profile accounts, overseeing client relationships, guiding teams, and shaping campaigns that move the needle. This role is ideal for a seasoned communicator with a deep understanding of media and how it is evolving, a passion for the built environment, and a proven ability to lead teams and deliver results. The AVP will play a central role in account growth, team leadership, business development, and high-level strategy, serving as a trusted advisor to clients and a mentor to staff.

Role location: This role is based in our New York, N.Y. office on a hybrid basis, in-person at least one day per week.

 

ACCOUNTABILITIES

As an Associate Vice President you will:

  • Lead strategic communications campaigns across multiple high-profile client accounts
  • Shape and drive media strategies, engage with top-tier reporters, and secure high-impact placements
  • Work with clients and teams on the development and execution of events, partnerships, influencer initiatives and other promotional activities
  • Oversee development of high-quality communications materials, including press releases, op-eds, talking points, and strategic plans
  • Guide and mentor internal teams, supporting career development and fostering a collaborative, high-performing environment

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of strategic communications experience: in-house, media or journalism; PR agency experience preferred
  • Expertise in media relations with a robust network of national and trade media contacts
  • Demonstrated success leading complex client accounts and managing high-level client relationships
  • Outstanding project management skills, with the ability to prioritize work streams and track progress across multiple teams
  • An expert multitasker. Project briefs change, deadlines move. It’s the nature of the business, and not only can you keep up with our fast-paced process, you thrive off of it. You have an ability to handle multiple projects at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
  • Strong writing skills. Your background in written communication includes extensive experience developing sharp, compelling online content
  • A team leader. You know how to guide, mentor and motivate junior staff while collaborating across teams to meet shared goals
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.

COMPENSATION

M18 offers competitive industry rate salary bands with the goal of retaining and growing talented individuals. 

Salary range (commensurate with experience and skills): $130,000- $140,000
