Role Overview 

This Engineer position will play a critical part in supporting the design, development, and manufacturing process for M2X.  This role involves a deep understanding of mechanical and process piping design and the ability to create a complete design packages from concept to manufacturable drawings.  The ideal candidate would be a self-starter with the ability to quickly solve problems by leveraging their broad knowledge base and experienced critical thinking.   

 
Key Responsibilities 

  • Review and interpret P&IDs   
  • Breakdown of design requirements 
  • Capture and organize the documentation for a design package (Concept of Operations, Requirements, BOM, CAD Models/Drawing, Vendor Data, Analysis)  
  • Design of process piping and mechanical systems (Design Considerations: thermal expansion, ease of manufacturing, minimizing pressure drop) 
  • Sizing and Selection of tubing, piping, and associated components (Valve, Regulators, Relief Valves, Check Valves, Filters, Instrumentation)   
  • Conduct Engineering Analysis (Hand Calcs, FMEA, Simulations)   
  • Participate in informal and formal design reviews 
  • Work directly with vendors on component selection 
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action  
  • Support a forward-thinking attitude to continuous process improvement  
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced Engineers  
  • Work directly with the various departments at M2X (manufacturing, procurement, quality, commissioning, field ops, finance)  

 

Required Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering degree  
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Mechanical or Fluid Design Engineering with 3 years in a manufacturing environment 
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software such as Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks  
  • Strong knowledge of compressible and incompressible flow 
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, testing, and troubleshooting 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a design concept and take through all stages of design and onto full-scale manufacturing 
  • Demonstrated root cause problem-solving, and continuous improvement 
  • Excellent communication, organization, and project management skills 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 6-10 years of experience in Mechanical or Fluid Design Engineering with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment 
  • Experience with construction, fabrication, and testing of large-scale process equipment.  
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems and data management tools (Autodesk Vault) 
  • Prior experience with leading design reviews and drawing approvals 
  • Knowledge and experience with ASME B31.3 Process Piping 

Salary Range: $80,000 – 120,000 based on experience 

Job Type: Full-time, In-person.
