The Role

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Facilities Technician to support the day-to-day safety, infrastructure, operation, maintenance, and of our facility. The Facilities Technician will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot and repair building systems and equipment, respond to maintenance requests, and help ensure the facility remains safe, clean, efficient, and fully operational.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with employees, contractors, and other members of the facilities team.

Key Responsibilities

Facilities Operations & Maintenance

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and repair common building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, doors, hardware, compressed air, and other facility utilities.
  • Perform routine inspections of facility equipment and infrastructure to identify deficiencies before they result in failures or operational interruptions.
  • Respond to facility service requests, equipment failures, leaks, power issues, temperature complaints, and other building-related problems.
  • Diagnose facility issues and determine appropriate repair strategies, including when escalation to specialized contractors or licensed trades is required.
  • Support maintenance and minor repairs of HVAC equipment, including filters, belts, motors, thermostats, exhaust systems, and related components within the employee's qualifications and authorization.
  • Perform basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs, including lighting, switches, receptacles, breakers, and related components where permitted.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs, including fixtures, faucets, drains, valves, piping, and leak response.
  • Perform general carpentry, drywall, painting, patching, furniture assembly, hardware installation, and other building repairs.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe mechanical, electrical, maintenance, and storage areas.

Manufacturing & Infrastructure Support

  • Support Facilities and Engineering with the installation, relocation, and commissioning of manufacturing and laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with utility connections and infrastructure modifications supporting manufacturing equipment, test equipment, and production operations.
  • Support shutdowns, equipment moves, factory reconfigurations, and other planned infrastructure activities.
  • Assist qualified tradespeople and contractors with electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, compressed air, and other infrastructure projects.
  • Identify facility conditions that could impact production, employee safety, equipment reliability, or business continuity and escalate them appropriately.
  • Participate in emergency facility response and restoration activities when building or utility failures occur.

Preventive Maintenance & CMMS

  • Execute scheduled preventive maintenance work orders and ensure assigned work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Document inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, equipment conditions, and follow-up actions within the company's CMMS.
  • Help maintain accurate facility equipment and asset records.
  • Identify recurring equipment failures and recommend corrective actions or improvements.
  • Support development and refinement of preventive maintenance procedures, checklists, and equipment standards.
  • Maintain appropriate spare parts, consumables, filters, tools, and maintenance supplies.

Safety & Compliance

  • Perform all work in accordance with Mach Industries' Environmental, Health & Safety requirements and applicable regulations.
  • Follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, ladder safety, fall protection, hot work, confined space, and other applicable safe-work procedures.
  • Properly use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Identify and immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, infrastructure deficiencies, and potential hazards.
  • Support facility inspections, corrective actions, emergency response activities, and EHS initiatives.
  • Maintain safe work areas and ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly stored following completion of work.

Vendor & Project Support

  • Coordinate with and provide onsite support to contractors and service vendors performing facility maintenance and repairs.
  • Verify contractor access, work locations, and basic scope completion.
  • Assist Facilities leadership with small facility improvement projects, equipment installations, furniture moves, office modifications, and factory-floor changes.
  • Support project punch walks and identify incomplete or deficient work.
  • Communicate facility conditions, repair status, and operational impacts clearly to Facilities leadership and internal stakeholders

Required Qualifications 

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of hands-on facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, building engineering, or related technical experience.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms and maintenance work-order processes.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and general building maintenance.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with Facilities, EHS, Engineering, Manufacturing, Security, and other operational teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and perform basic repairs using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, equipment manuals, and safety procedures.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple maintenance requests.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials as required.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environments and respond to occasional emergency or after-hours maintenance needs.
  • Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, and work in various facility and industrial environments.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, lifts, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
  • Ability to work in manufacturing, mechanical, rooftop, outdoor, and other non-office environments.
  • Ability to wear required PPE appropriate to the work being performed.
  • Ability to perform physical maintenance activities for extended periods as required.
  • This position may require up to 20% travel to support Mach Industries facilities, projects, equipment installations, maintenance activities, and operational needs at other company locations.
  • Travel may include scheduled and short-notice trips depending on business requirements

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 7+ years of facilities, industrial maintenance, or building engineering experience.
  • Technical school, apprenticeship, trade certification, or equivalent formal training in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, or industrial maintenance.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, industrial, R&D, or high-growth technology environments.
  • Experience with commercial or industrial HVAC systems.
  • Experience with three-phase electrical systems and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Familiarity with compressed air, process utilities, exhaust systems, pumps, motors, and industrial equipment.
  • Experience supporting equipment installations, facility modifications, or construction projects.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • NFPA 70E electrical safety training.
  • CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with CMMS platforms such as MaintainX or similar systems.

Additional Requirements

  • Available to work extended hours and weekends as needed

Pay Range

$32 - $52 USD
