Director, Corporate Communications

Dallas, TX

Machinify is a leading healthcare intelligence company with expertise across the payment continuum, delivering unmatched value, transparency, and efficiency to health plan clients across the country. Deployed by over 85 health plans, including many of the top 20, and representing more than 270 million lives, Machinify brings together a fully configurable and content-rich, AI-powered platform along with best-in-class expertise. We’re constantly reimagining what’s possible in our industry, creating disruptively simple, powerfully clear ways to maximize financial outcomes and drive down healthcare costs.

About the Opportunity

As Director, Corporate Communications, you will work directly with the VP, Corporate Communications to run Machinify's internal and external communications. You will oversee the day-to-day communications calendar, own major programs end to end, and hold a high quality bar on everything Corporate Communications produces.

You will lead change communications, campaigns, and ongoing content series across SharePoint, Slack, email, and live events; manage content for people managers and the senior leadership team; and strengthen Machinify's corporate reputation through executive thought leadership and industry presence. This role is for an exceptional writer whose own writing and editorial judgment set the standard, and who takes work from strategy through execution with little direction. You will also bring practical, daily use of AI tools to how the team plans, researches, and measures its work.

What you'll do

  • Oversee Machinify's internal and external communications day-to-day with the VP, Corporate Communications, including the editorial calendar, review and approvals, and quality across every message.
  • Lead change and transformation communications for enterprise initiatives, including ongoing activation of Machinify's mission, vision, and values: stakeholder mapping, sequencing, leader toolkits, FAQs, and follow-through well after launch day.
  • Plan and run multi-channel campaigns and ongoing content series, including employee features and storytelling that reinforce culture, business priorities, and AI adoption.
  • Run Machinify's internal channels, including SharePoint, Slack, email, and live events, writing to the format and audience of each and setting standards that keep content consistent across them.
  • Manage content for people managers and the senior leadership team, including a new dedicated people manager channel, so leaders can explain strategy and change to their teams.
  • Lead executive communications, including thought leadership, speaking and media opportunities, presentations, and internal messages written in each executive's voice, and counsel senior leaders on messaging in the company's most consequential moments.
  • Strengthen Machinify's corporate reputation: shape the corporate narrative, pursue awards and industry recognition, and expand the company's industry presence in partnership with Marketing.
  • Use AI tools to speed up research, planning, analysis, and measurement, and help set how the team uses AI responsibly.
  • Build editorial standards, processes, and measurement that show what is working and what needs to change.

What experience you bring (Role Requirements)

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive corporate communications experience spanning internal and external communications, with ownership of high-visibility programs.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills that stand on their own. You can write a CEO message, a Slack announcement, a SharePoint feature, and manager talking points in the same afternoon, each in the right voice and length, and make complex technical topics (including AI) clear to any audience.
  • Demonstrated success leading change and transformation communications in a complex organization.
  • A track record of running campaigns and recurring content series from concept through measurement.
  • Hands-on, daily use of generative AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, or Microsoft Copilot) to work faster, with the judgment to know where AI falls short and how to protect confidential information.
  • Deep working knowledge of enterprise channels, including SharePoint, Slack, and email, and how audience behavior differs on each.
  • Experience supporting C-level executives, including counsel, thought leadership, speeches, and presentations.
  • Experience building communications programs from the ground up and influencing across teams without direct authority, with high judgment and discretion.

Nice to have

  • Healthcare industry experience (health plans, payers, providers, or healthcare technology).
  • Experience communicating with a global, distributed workforce.
  • Experience managing SharePoint intranet sites or other enterprise content platforms.

**Please include two or three samples of your own writing with your application, ideally at least one internal and one external piece.**
