THE ROLE
We're seeking a Director of Apparel Product Development who will lead the execution of the product development lifecycle, ensuring timely adherence to various milestones within the Brand calendar. In this role you will also manage the day-to-day operations of transitioning initial design concepts to production-ready garments including execution, costing, minimums and target delivery.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Oversee all products from concept to approval, ensuring adherence to critical deadlines, brand standards, and financial goals
- Ensure new products align with the Brand's sourcing strategy; allocate new development strategically and efficiently
- Manage all seasonal Buy Cycle deliverables with cross-functional teams including project management tools, assortment sheets, and buy plans
- Work closely with the Fabric team on in-season development and innovation
- Lead all sample development with factories including tech pack sending, target pricing, wear testing and other various details; oversee all stages of approvals into Pre-Production
- Ensure sample execution meets the objective, and quality standards; lead Technical Design team to ensure sample stages are adhering to calendar dates
- Negotiate costs with suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and minimums, while maintaining product quality
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders, and act as an expert of the product assortment
WHAT WILL SET YOU UP FOR SUCCESS
- 5-8 years of experience in apparel development and sourcing with overseas factories
- Knowledge of textiles and global apparel manufacturing
- Strong communication skills to advocate the Brand’s needs, and influence external partners appropriately
- Possess a high degree of integrity, organization, time-management abilities and attention to detail

- Salary range of $140,000 - $150,000 *This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary range for this NYC - based position. The base salary will depend on numerous factors such as: experience and qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other MW employees.
