Senior Research Manager, Insights Practice

Madano’s Insights Practice

Everything we do at Madano is driven by evidence and insights. The insights practice helps clients define their strategies, deliver their objectives and demonstrate their value. For example;

  • We deliver targeted and effective stakeholder engagement strategies by using data science and statistical analysis to identify and segment influencer landscapes
  • We use behaviour change theory and innovative qualitative research to deliver the right message to the right people at the right time
  • We provide strategic advice and frameworks that help businesses and organisations understand what it is they are trying to achieve and how they can demonstrate their impact

The role

We are looking for a highly skilled, well-organised, and proactive individual looking to continue their development by joining our Insights Practice as a Senior Research Manager. This role offers fantastic opportunities for a curious and ambitious person willing to learn and to play a leading role in delivering high-value insights projects for innovative clients who are shaping the future and supporting the development of a growing insights practice.

The role requires a demonstrable track record of delivering outstanding quality and expert counsel across quantitative and qualitative projects, with at least 5-7 years working in market research. You will also be skilled in project management and co-ordination as well as understanding financial management and reporting of projects. Sound methodological competence and an ability to extract real insight is a must as you drive multiple projects from conception to completion; the ability to work flexibly, iteratively and in some cases without a clear client brief is also essential.

You will have contributed to new business briefs and pitches, with proven examples of how your contributions have aided new business wins. You will work closely with clients to help grow our work in supporting their needs.

You will work with other methodological specialists across quantitative and qualitative research, strategy and data science to deliver game-changing insights and an outstanding experience for clients at Madano and the clients of our wider network of AVENIR GLOBAL companies. Though not solely, much of our work tends to focus on clients working in healthcare and the pharmaceutical industry, therefore we would be seeking someone with a background in working in this area.

You’ll also love working with junior members of the team, supporting them in their development journey, and taking some line management responsibilities.

What you’ll bring to the role

  • A strong interest and expertise in insights and evidence to help business decision-making
  • Experience working in regulated sectors, with experience and knowledge of conducting market research in healthcare and pharmaceuticals
  • Experience in running research projects end to end, leading day to day operations.
  • We are method agnostic so you’ll be able to lead qual and quant projects, although we understand people may have a preference!
  • An ability to identify challenges and create solutions, often under time pressure
  • Ability to deliver high quality, precision and detail on, research instruments and de-briefs in tight timeframes
  • Ability to deliver high standard proposals, and pitches, in tight timeframes
  • Experience of using research to help business decision-making, especially in strategic communications
  • A high level of IT and digital literacy, particularly with Office suite and basic data analysis
  • Curiosity and understanding of the role of information and communication in driving the behaviour of people, organisations and societies, and the development of innovative methodologies to understand this behaviour.
