M&A Intern (Engineering & Preconstruction) – Summer 2026
Overview:
Madison Energy Infrastructure (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike.
As a Summer 2026 Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting high-impact initiatives within the M&A team. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to the clean energy industry, real project ownership, and the opportunity to contribute to a fast-growing organization.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Assisting with technical diligence for renewable energy projects, including review of engineering designs, site layouts, and equipment specifications.
- Supporting the team in analyzing solar production estimates, system performance assumptions, and project design parameters.
- Working with engineering and development teams to review project drawings, technical documentation, and engineering reports.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of technical project summaries and diligence materials.
- Supporting additional technical and project development initiatives as needed.
What We Are Looking For:
- A rising undergraduate Junior or Senior studying Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related field)..
- Interest in renewable energy systems, solar project development, or power infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Interest in working in a team environment and learning about the energy industry with real-life work experience.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel.
- Energetic and ready to tackle new projects and ideas.
- Hands-on, with careful attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Hard-working and able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Deadline oriented.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to build strong interpersonal relationships.
Location & Schedule:
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), hybrid internship based in our New York City office. Interns will work four days per week in-office and one day remotely to maximize in-person collaboration and exposure to the business.
The 10-week program runs from June 1 through August 7, 2026. Interns will participate in our all-company offsite on June 24, 2026, as part of their immersive experience. The office will be closed in observance of Juneteenth (June 19, 2026) and Independence Day (July 3, 2026).
Commitment & Compensation:
This is a paid internship. The hourly pay range for this role is $20–$40. Compensation within this range is determined based on factors including academic level (undergraduate vs. graduate), year in program, and relevant experience.
