Role

Maev is seeking a skilled, revenue growth-focused and execution-minded individual to join our team as Director of Marketplaces to oversee its growing Chewy business. The ideal candidate possesses an in-depth understanding of Chewy's platform and can leverage that knowledge to effectively establish and grow a brand on this marketplace. You enjoy building deep relationships, working cross functionally, and have strong communication and analytical skills. You are a sales and solution minded leader, constantly seeking out opportunities to generate customer engagement and drive revenue.

You will lead the partnership and strategy for Maev’s business on Chewy while working closely with Operations, Marketing and Senior Leaders to optimize product assortment strategy, manage inventory and drive revenue growth. 

The Director of Marketplaces will report to the SVP of Marketing. 

Responsibilities

Strategy:

  • Oversee and manage the company’s Chewy business, ensuring seamless operations in compliance with Chewy’s policies and guidelines 
  • Develop and implement onsite and offsite campaigns to generate customer engagement and revenue growth, in partnership with the marketing team
  • Analyze advertising performance data and spend, adjusting strategies to maximize ROI
  • Remain up-to-date and informed on market trends, competitor activity, and innovative eCommerce marketplace strategies
  • Provide regular business reports, presenting data to leadership and internal teams on sales performance, advertising performance, operational performance, customer feedback and reviews, and overall account health  

Tactical Execution:

  • Create, update, and optimize product listings (titles, descriptions, keywords, images, reviews,  etc.) to drive visibility and conversion rates 
  • Plan and execute on Chewy advertising campaigns (PPC, Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands) 
  • Handle account troubleshooting and communicate with Chewy support as need

Leadership:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive sales growth strategies, including detailed action plans and resource allocation proposals, to achieve ambitious revenue targets.
  • Foster strong relationships with Chewy category management teams, understanding their needs, and creating joint business plan
  • Collaborate with internal departments such as Finance & Operations to manage inventory levels, forecast demand, and prevent stockouts

Experience

  • 10+ years of work experience, including 5+ years of Chewy marketplace leadership experience specifically for one or more brands in a 1P environment
  • Demonstrated success in Chewy account management for rapidly growing brands
  • Experience with revenue and advertising forecasting, as well as P&L management experience
  • Proven experience developing and executing a strategic roadmap that delivers profitable growth
  • Self starter who proactively identifies business risks & opportunities with the ability to understand the P&L
  • Strong knowledge of Chewy’s best practices, policies and tools (PPC, Content, Product Rankings)
  • Strong relationship management skills, emphasis on collaboration and alignment across functions & levels
  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions 
  • Excellent professional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
