The opportunity
What you’ll do
- Support overall process flow, yield, and performance of waveguide R&D projects
- Support engineering projects in waveguide mastering, fabrication, and optical metrology to deliver product quality and improve waveguide performance and yield
- Performs feasibility studies and collaborates with the R&D team to develop process and metrology technology readiness plans to meet program deliverables
- Plans and conducts experiments to fully characterize the process throughout the development cycle
- Analyze test data and work with technical owners to identify the root cause of waveguide and process performance issues and drive performance improvements to meet challenging timelines
- Present results and make recommendations to technical program management and senior technology and business leaders
- Support the development of business processes to improve the throughput and outcomes of projects in the future
- Support continuous improvement in development processes and build infrastructure for the waveguide R&D team
The experience you bring
- 4+ years of industry experience in optical components or sub-systems
- BS or M.S. in engineering, optics, physics, or related fields
- Ability to tackle and understand complex systems and problems that span multiple disciplines
- Ability to demonstrate statistical data analysis skills
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
It’s exciting if you also have
- Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:
- Semiconductor processing experience in nano/micro fabrication, lithography, etching, deposition, or precision cutting tools
- Process metrology experience: optical spectrometer, AFM, SEM, ellipsometer, or CMM
- Photometry, colorimetry, and imaging quality measurements and analyses
- High-volume manufacturing experience in consumer electronics

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level and location. In addition to salary, Magic Leap offers a discretionary bonus and a fully comprehensive benefits package for eligible employees.
US Base Salary Range
$140,000 - $155,000 USD
