Network Security Administrator | JOB DESCRIPTION 

SUMMARY 

At Magnolia, the Network Security Administrator is responsible for safeguarding an organization’s network, systems, and data security integrity. This role involves implementing security measures, monitoring network traffic for suspicious activity, and responding to security incidents. The administrator will configure firewalls, manage intrusion detection systems, and ensure compliance with security policies and standards. Additionally, they will conduct regular security audits, provide training to staff on security best practices, and stay updated on emerging security threats and technologies. This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the IT Operations Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Perform network planning, detailed design, and hands-on implementation of IP network projects, ensuring robust, scalable, and secure network infrastructure tailored to meet organizational goals and project specifications* 
  • Administer and configure network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and servers* 
  • Develop and implement security strategies, policies, and procedures 
  • Conduct security risk and vulnerability assessments* 
  • Stay updated on security trends and ensure compliance 
  • Manage security incident response procedures 
  • Perform audits and reviews of security controls* 
  • Assess the security of third-party vendors and partners 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of experience with a related degree, 4-7 years of experience with a non-related degree, or 5+ years of industry experience preferred. 
  • Knowledge of security standards (ISO 27001, PCI,NIST, GDPR). 
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure, Defender, and Intune 
  • Must be available to be on call as business needs require 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
