GROUNDSKEEPER | JOB DESCRIPTION

 

SUMMARY

At Magnolia, the Grounds Crew is responsible for playing a key part of the overall guest experience by assisting with maintenance and cleanliness of the Silos Grounds and other Magnolia properties. This position works from various locations in and near Waco, Texas. It reports to the Grounds Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.       

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform daily grounds tasks, including trash pickup, turf maintenance, power washing, leaf blowing and vacuuming, wiping down tables, weed eating, etc.*
  • Assist with ground maintenance tasks such as preparing soil and planting beds, watering, weeding, and pruning as needed
  • Partner with Garden Hosts to install new projects, including loading and unloading materials, preparing planters and planting areas, and other related responsibilities
  • Support the facilities team while ensuring operation efficiency 
  • Assess guest needs and provide aid with information about Magnolia grounds*
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment*
  • Assist with the maintenance of organization and cleanliness*
  • Engage and connect with guests and other team members*
  • Perform other duties as assigned

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • 0-1 years of related work experience preferred
  • Previous grounds, custodial, maintenance, or landscaping experience preferred
  • Texas driver's license preferred
  • Must be available to work weekends, special events, and holidays as business needs require

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is expected to utilize team lifting techniques when lifting bulky items or items weighing above 50 pounds and up to 120 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works outside and is frequently exposed to all weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
