Assistant Digital Merchant

SUMMARY 

The Assistant Digital Merchant is responsible for managing and optimizing the online product catalog to drive sales and enhance the customer shopping experience. This role involves creating and maintaining product display pages, monitoring inventory, analyzing sales performance, and ensuring accurate, compelling product content across the site. This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Ecommerce Manager and has no supervisory responsibilities.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop category expertise to drive sales and improve conversion by maximizing product placement and attribution, and digital assets are optimized to drive sales and customer engagement*   
  • Responsible for the activation of all seasonal product, including partnering with photography, merchandising, and developing SEO-optimized product titles and descriptions with clear, concise, and persuasive copy that highlight key features, benefits, and unique selling points*  
  • Drive accuracy across all content, navigation, categories, and floorset-related strategies*  
  • Analyze product performance metrics and track engagement with content and product by leveraging merchandising insights, to drive customer engagement and product conversion. 
  • Execute daily site reviews with customer-first insight and make site updates and optimizations as needed*   
  • Review online competitor site merchandising, promotional execution, and user experience to identify opportunities, then see ideas through to execution    
  • Manage relationship and optimizations with 3rd party ratings and reviews vendor and actions and follow ups on customer rating in reviews, including communication with guest services and merchandising team  
  • Address and resolve product errors, technical issues, or content discrepancies promptly, coordinating IT support when needed. 
  • Keep up to date on shipping costs trends and implementation, making recommendations based on changes seen in competitive landscape.  
  • Participate in operational needs as related to product, cart and checkout, and other site functions. 
  • Monitor product inventory levels as it impacts seasonal launches, site and marketing content, coordinating POs with Planning Ops and the warehouse team.

 ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university preferred  
  • 0-3 years of related work experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
