Waitstaff Lead

SUMMARY 

At Magnolia, the Waitstaff Lead is responsible for assisting with the supervision of Waitstaff employees and leads the team in creating the Magnolia Table experience for guests by providing prompt service, delivering quality products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable restaurant environment. This position ensures the highest level of customer care for guests by providing exceptional service and assistance. This position works from Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Assistant Front of House Manager and has supervisory responsibilities.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensure the highest level of guest care, in line with Magnolia’s brand   
  • Complete floor charts, assign sections to servers, and make changes as necessary* 
  • Ensure opening and closing duties are assigned and completed* 
  • Assist servers during guest interactions as necessary 
  • Assist in counting and submitting orders, ensuring that backstock is maintained  
  • Communicate business objectives and changes to the team during pre-shift meetings and throughout the shift* 
  • Cash out waitstaff at the end of each shift and prepare change as necessary   
  • Partner with restaurant leadership to ensure proper staffing levels 
  • Provide feedback and assist with the training of direct reports   
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards* 
  • Perform other duties as assigned

ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred 
  • 2-4 years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 
  • Texas Food Manager’s Certification and TABC certification required upon hire 
  • Must be available to work weekends, nights, special events, and holidays as business needs require 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is intermittent sounds at a level sufficient to cause hearing loss or fatigue. The employee is subject to high temperatures and low temperatures. The employee is exposed to workplace hazards.
