SUMMARY 

At Magnolia, the Lead Host is responsible for supporting the Assistant Front of House Manager by coordinating the Host Staff and ensuring smooth business operations. The Lead Host contributes to Magnolia Table’s success by providing exceptional service to all guests. This position connects with guests in a genuine and authentic manner, sharing information about the menu and enhancing their dining experience. This position works from Magnolia Table in Waco, Texas. It reports to the Assistant Front of House Manager and has supervisory responsibilities.   

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Ensure the highest level of guest care, in line with Magnolia’s brand  
  • Uphold all company policies   
  • Complete floor charts and assign duties to staff and make changes as necessary  
  • Guide the host team in strategically seating guests in a manner that best fits the business flow* 
  • Assist leadership in assessing quote times to ensure proper flow of business 
  • Partner with restaurant leadership to ensure proper staffing levels 
  • Contribute to a high-energy, fast-paced environment   
  • Monitor, manage and order inventory* 
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety standards* 
  • Provide accurate wait times to host team  
  • Reconcile server cash throughout each shift  
  • Contribute to a safe and clean working environment* 
  • Communicate effectively with leadership about business, and employees 
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

*Metrics evaluated on Performance Review

 ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred 
  • 2-4 years of related work experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred 
  • Texas Food Manager’s Certification and TABC certification required upon hire 
  • Must be available to work weekends, nights, special events, and holidays as business needs require 

 PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and arms to reach, handle, feel; utilize fine motor dexterity of fingers; talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.  WORK ENVIRONMENT 

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role routinely uses sinks, dishwashers, and tools to clean kitchen appliances. The employee is frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals, and cleaning chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is intermittent sounds at a level sufficient to cause hearing loss or fatigue. The employee is subject to high temperatures and low temperatures. The employee is exposed to workplace hazards.
