Title: Commercialization Senior Specialist

Department: CPG – Marketing – Commercialization

Reports To: Senior Director, Commercialization

Salary Range: $76,800 - $110,000 plus annual bonus eligibility

Location: New York City (hybrid)

OVERVIEW

The Commercialization Senior Specialist role at Magnolia Bakery provides coordination & leadership to the CPG cross-functional team to deliver a portfolio of CPG products to full commercial scale, within the defined product specifications, timelines, and cost parameters. The Commercialization Senior Specialist is a strong collaborator and central hub for providing direction and facilitating the planning and go-to-market progress with a group of business, marketing, supply chain, finance, co-manufacturing, product development, creative, and technology leaders. The Commercialization Senior Specialist ultimately will become an expert on the product line(s) they oversee and beyond initial launch, become the go-to point of contact for all things product quality and maintaining a strong, consistent consumer experience.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Own the end-to-end, successful delivery of new product launches, product adjustments, and productivity or margin improvement initiatives that meet external customer and company expectations, goals, and financial targets with oversight from Senior Director, Commercialization.  
  • Serve as technical point of contact for all things product-related, supporting formula development and refinement, interfacing with third party consultant subject matter experts and co-manufacturers as needed, and planning and attending line trials and commissioning runs.
  • Support cross-functional teams’ movement through the product commercialization process. Serve as group facilitator and gatekeeper of all product launch information, including key milestones, cost targets, and scope parameters.
  • Collaborate closely with the CPG cross functional team to identify and act on opportunities and identify risks and mitigation plans throughout the product development and innovation lifecycles.
  • Define, calculate, and maintain commercialization life stages and timelines.
  • Prepare and deliver briefs for the Magnolia Bakery Stage Gate Process. Support development of standardized tools & templates to drive the Magnolia Bakery Commercialization Process.
  • Provide project-related inputs to the CPG budget.
  • Provide frequent updates via CPG project meetings and to team leadership, manage expectations, and keep all stakeholders informed of the progress of all in-flight products/projects.
  • Actively contribute to the development of the Magnolia Bakery’s culture and standards of quality.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Strong collaborator, team player, and communicator with a track record of bringing products to market utilizing multiple commercialization strategies (owned manufacturing, co-manufacturing)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field of R&D, Commercialization, Brand Management, Marketing, or Manufacturing.
  • 3-4 years in a CPG environment managing initiatives. Food & beverage experience is a plus.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional people skills with developed facilitation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to interact with vendors and partners with the utmost professionalism at all times.
  • Proven track record in stakeholder management with strong cross-functional collaboration skills operating in a matrix organization environment. 
  • Exhibit strong team leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel to (up to 25%).
