Position Summary:
This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your sales experience within the Consumer Products business, working with an iconic New York City brand. Sales Manager plays a crucial role in growing Magnolia Bakery’s CPG business unit.  We are looking for an ambitious self-starter with strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills. This role will be responsible for and deliver new business revenue while working across multiple internal cross-functional Magnolia Bakery teams. This role will support our high trajectory growth strategy by proactively developing a sales pipeline, identifying new commercial opportunities, expanding our retail presence within multiple business channels, managing contract compliance, and own sales presentations, sampling, and budget management. 
Salary: $78,000- $110,000 7% Bonus Eligibility
Location: Hybrid (New York City) 2 Days Onsite
Reports to: Senior Director, Sales
Responsibilities: 
- Achieve or exceed sales volume, revenue, and profitability targets for assigned strategic accounts
 
- Strong drive to close new business through cold calling process, while maintaining a pipeline of potential targets
 
- Understand multi-level CPG distribution systems from Regional to Broadline scope
 
- Have past working experience selling to Commercial and Non-Commercial foodservice accounts
 
- Ability to create go-to-market strategy for varied channels of business including traditional and non-traditional retail
 
- Prior experience negotiating contracted business exceeding $500k in annual revenue
 
- Work seamlessly with internal departments, such as Commercialization, Creative, Supply Chain, Finance, Legal and Marketing
 
- Strengthen collaboration and trust through proactive communication and solution-oriented support
 
- Share accurate sales forecast data based on trends, seasonality, and promo activity
 
- Collaborate with Supply Chain to ensure product availability and minimize out-of-stocks, while also improving fulfillment levels
 
- Contribute to new product launches by securing incremental distribution points and strong in-market execution
 
- Provide concise meeting summaries for internal communication
 
- Conduct periodic competitive assessments, compile findings and make recommendations with fact-based support. Be aware of industry trends
 
- Provide support by compiling relevant materials for presentations, including overview presentations, category success stories, ratings, press stories, etc. to keep Magnolia Bakery top of mind to fuel retail success
 
- Maintain accurate account documentation
 
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of relevant industry experience required
 
- Excellent oral, written, and communication skills
 
- Strong interpersonal skills
 
- Above average organizational ability and tenacious follow up / follow through abilities
 
- Self-starter that defines roles broadly and has a continued desire to learn new skills
 
- Ability to think strategically and share ideas up the management ladder
 
- Overnight travel may be required, up to 40% of the year
 
- Preference given to candidates residing in, or around New York City, and can work a hybrid schedule with 2-3 days in office
 
- Knowledge and proficient use of Microsoft Teams, Office, Slack, and Smartsheet

- Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, co-workers, and management
 
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception
 
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
 
- Position may require standing and walking for 3-8 hours with limited breaks
 
- Occasional moderate to heavy lifting and carrying, bending, and reaching overhead may be required
 
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment
 
Salary Range
$78,000 - $110,000 USD
