About the Role
Magrathea is seeking a hands on detail-oriented Pilot Plant Technician to help run and optimize our revolutionary electrolytic process technology. Our innovative talent is one of the biggest drivers in our success, and talented people don’t always fit with rigid job descriptions or day-to-day responsibilities. However, we want to be transparent about what will be expected of this role. The R&D Technician will be a key player in the scale-up and design of our revolutionary electrolytic process technology.
Role Expectations
- Ability to creatively solve problems using mechanical and electrical knowhow
- Ability to clearly communicate solution ideas an implement them with a team
- Operate and monitor high-temperature equipment, ensuring optimal performance and product quality.
- Work safely in environments requiring proper protective gear and following safety protocols.
- Perform mechanical and instrument maintenance activities, both in a pilot research facility and in a lab.
- Be diligent in note-taking and provide written reports to other team members
- Clean, organize and prepare feedstock, product materials and samples for further processing and testing
- Handle raw materials and finished products, ensuring accurate measurements and adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to optimize processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Able to work independently with SOPs and Work Instructions
- Knows basic laboratory safety and chemical handling
Ideal Background
- Experience in plant operations, for instance as an operator or technician
- Attentive, with care for operations reliability and maintenance
- Creative and open-minded with the ability to rapidly learn
- Demonstrated track record of working on a team to achieve audacious goals together
- History of promoting company culture based on humility, transparency, respect, and care for the success of other team members
Compensation
- Salary range: $70-$90k annually (commensurate with experience)
