Engineering Manager, Compliance and Multi-Region
MaintainX is the world's leading Asset and Work Intelligence platform for industrial and frontline environments. We are a modern IoT-enabled cloud-based tool for reliability, safety, and operations on physical equipment and facilities. MaintainX powers operational excellence for 12,000 businesses including Duracell, Univar Solutions Inc., Titan America, McDonald's, Brenntag, Cintas, Xylem, and Shell.
We recently completed a $150 million Series D funding round, bringing our total funding to $254 million and valuing the company at $2.5 billion.
We are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead our compliance and multi-region environments, starting with our FedRAMP-authorized AWS GovCloud environment. This team is responsible for building and operating the foundations that allow MaintainX to run securely and reliably across regulated environments and regions around the world, including both single-tenant and multi-tenant architectures, while remaining closely aligned with our core commercial SaaS architecture.
This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering, infrastructure, security, and product delivery. You'll lead a team that turns complex regulatory and regional requirements into scalable, repeatable patterns that enable global product delivery.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead and manage an engineering team focused on compliance environments and multi-region enablement, including hiring, onboarding, and career development.
- Own delivery and operational outcomes for MaintainX’s regulated and regional deployments, starting with FedRAMP and expanding to additional regions and compliance frameworks over time.
- Drive the technical and execution strategy for multi-region deployments, ensuring services can be deployed consistently and safely in any supported region.
- Partner closely with Security, Compliance, Product, and Commercial Engineering to meet regulatory requirements while minimizing architectural drift from our core SaaS platform.
- Guide technical direction and architectural decisions for infrastructure, CI/CD workflows, and deployment patterns, providing context and guardrails rather than day-to-day implementation.
- Drive planning, prioritization, and execution for cross-functional initiatives, including audits, regional launches, platform investments, and customer-facing releases.
- Advocate for shift-left practices that improve developer experience and release confidence in high-compliance and multi-region environments.
- Ensure operational excellence, including incident response readiness, change management, documentation quality, and audit preparedness.
- Communicate roadmap, progress, risks, and tradeoffs clearly to engineering leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
About You:
- Experience leading engineering teams responsible for platform, infrastructure, or compliance-critical systems.
- Strong technical background in cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and modern application architectures, with the ability to guide multi-region design decisions.
- Proven ability to deliver in regulated environments such as FedRAMP, SOC2, HIPAA, or similar frameworks.
- Track record of cross-functional leadership across security, compliance, and product teams.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguous problem spaces and scaling solutions beyond their initial use case.
- Clear communicator who can translate complex technical and regulatory constraints into actionable plans.
- Passion for growing engineers through coaching, feedback, and ownership.
Nice to Have:
- Direct experience with AWS GovCloud and global multi-region deployments.
- Experience designing or operating region-agnostic platforms and deployment pipelines.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and environment management frameworks like Atmos.
- Experience supporting audits or working directly with external assessors.
What’s In It For You:
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity opportunities.
- Healthcare, dental, and vision coverage.
- 401(k) / RRSP enrollment program.
- Take what you need PTO.
- A Work Culture where:
- You’ll work alongside folks across the globe that reflect the MaintainX values, Smart Humble Optimist.
- We believe in meritocracy, where ideas and effort are publicly celebrated.
