Creative Asset Specialist
Malbon is searching for a Creative Asset Specialist to join our team! We're looking for a detail-obsessed, fast-moving creative who lives at the intersection of photography, post-production, and digital organization.
This role is the connective tissue between our studio and the digital world, ensuring every product looks flawless, every asset is where it needs to be, and no collection ever falls through the cracks. You'll work directly alongside our studio photographer and creative team in a high-pace, drop-driven environment where precision and speed are equally valued.
Ideal candidates is someone who takes pride in making things look perfect, moves quickly without cutting corners, and is excited about the role AI is playing in creative production.
Location: Malbon HQ is based in Santa Monica, CA. We are currently operating from a hybrid work schedule of 3 days a week in-office.
What You’ll Do:
Post-Production & Image Editing
- Color match product images to physical samples, ensuring accurate representation across all colorways
- Execute background removal, cleanup, and general retouching: wrinkles, lint, garment irregularities
- Perform color shifts to represent alternate product colorways from a single hero image
- Create clean product flats from Photoshop templates across core silhouettes: tees, hoodies, crewnecks, and sweatpants
Studio & Production Support
- Partner directly with the studio photographer to track shoot schedules and verify collection coverage — zero missed product
- Own shoot prep logistics: sample gathering, steaming, and ensuring all garments are camera-ready before call time
- Serve as the on-set point of contact for asset tracking and continuity across shoot days
- Support post-shoot asset selections:reviewing, culling, and flagging hero images for creative team review
Digital Asset Management
- Organize, tag, and maintain a clean, accessible DAM system across all collections and seasons
- Ensure proper file naming conventions, version control, and handoff-ready exports for internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain asset libraries so the team can move fast and find what they need, every time
What You’ll Bring:
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Capture One: retouching, masking, color adjustments, and template-based production work
- Prior experience in content organization, or digital asset coordination ideally within a fashion, ecommerce, or content production environment
- Exposure to Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems
- Hands-on experience with or strong curiosity about AI-powered creative tools (Firefly, generative fill, background removal AI, etc.)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and handle repetitive tasks efficiently
- A sharp eye for color accuracy and the patience to get it right
- Comfortable supporting post-shoot selects, able to identify strong candidates efficiently
- Comfort in a studio, you know how to be useful on set without being in the way
- A "whatever it takes" attitude in a dynamic, deadline-driven team
- Not essential but favorable if you experience in Adobe Premiere Pro: editing, trimming, exporting multi-format video deliverables
Compensation
This is a full-time position with an expected salary range of $70K-$75K. Compensation decisions are determined using a variety of job-related factors such as skill set, geographic location, market demands, experience, and education / certifications. If we extend an offer for employment, we will consider all individual qualifications.
