Ocean Export Supervisor

Mallory Alexander International Logistics, a global third-party logistics company (3PL) headquartered in Memphis, TN has an immediate opening for a Logistics Professional to join our team!

The Ocean Export Supervisor is responsible for managing daily operations, supporting documentation compliance, and ensuring exceptional customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily ocean export operations and serve as a key point of contact for issues and customer concerns.
  • Oversee selection of shipment routes, ensuring compliance with transit time, cargo security, and regulatory requirements.
  • Arrange special cargo transportation and drayage, as well as container scheduling (live load, drop, pick-up).
  • Monitor the preparation and accuracy of export documentation (Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Letters of Credit, AES filings).
  • Review and approve steamship line bookings and documentation transmissions.
  • Communicate effectively with vendors, carriers, customers, and overseas agents to ensure timely cargo movement.
  • Track and trace shipments; provide status updates and resolve service disruptions as needed.
  • Ensure Letter of Credit shipments meet all documentary and banking compliance requirements.
  • Ensure recordkeeping aligns with company policy and regulatory standards, including document release timelines and compliance controls.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with the team to improve process flow and customer experience.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of ocean export experience, with 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of international shipping regulations and documentation.
  • Cargowise experience highly preferred; strong systems proficiency required.
  • Demonstrated excellence in customer service and issue resolution.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional Information:

  • Salary Range: $65,000 to $80,000, commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits include medical, vision, dental, 401(k), PTO, paid holidays.
