Senior Research Associate/ Research Associate, Platform
Manifold Bio is a dynamic biotech company building a pipeline of targeted biologics using a novel in vivo-centric discovery approach. Our drug discovery engine is differentiated by massively parallel screening in vivo from the beginning of our discovery process. This unique platform is powered by a proprietary protein barcoding technology that allows multiplexed protein quantitation at unprecedented scale and sensitivity. We combine this and other high-throughput protein engineering approaches with computational design to create antibody-like drugs and other biologics. Our world-class team of protein engineers, biologists, and computational scientists are working together to aim the platform at therapeutic opportunities where precise targeting is the key to overcoming clinical challenges.

Position
We are seeking a highly-motivated research associate who thrives in a fast-paced and creative environment to push the capabilities of in vivo drug discovery. Together with senior researchers, you will play a critical role in assaying complex libraries of therapeutics across diverse animal models of disease. You will have a direct impact in advancing our platform's capability to track multiple drugs in mixture across tissue and cell types. This is a hands-on role and you should have experience processing and analyzing ex vivo tissues. The ideal candidate has a broad range of molecular biology skills and is eager to learn more. In close collaboration with wet lab and computational teammates, you will help map the path to accomplishing project goals and then execute and optimize as needed to get there.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-throughput screening assays using automation in close collaboration with other researchers.
- Perform appropriate in vitro work to support in vivo or ex vivo goals.
Processing of in vivo or ex vivo samples for assays/analysis.
- Maintain data integrity and effectively communicate findings to the team.
- Execute and optimize NGS library preparation workflows.
- Define, document, and improve protocols.
- Assist in lab organization, including ordering supplies and restocking.
Required Qualifications
Must Have
- Bachelors or Masters and 1-2+ years of experience in web lab techniques (biotech/pharma industry preferred)
- Experience processing tissue from in vivo experiments
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be organized to work in a high throughput screening setting.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and the ability to multitask
- Strong attention to detail
- Team player working collaboratively in a team setting.
- Detailed and diligent notekeeping (ELN)
- Teachable / quick learner to pick up new protocols/techniques
Nice to Have
- Demonstrated expertise in tissue processing techniques
- Experience with ELISA-like assays or have worked in a high-throughput setting
