Lead Sales Engineer

We’re looking for a highly motivated, proven Sales Engineering leader who knows SaaS and financial services. We know who our potential customers are. We need your help to get them to know us too. This is a great opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a fast growing SaaS market leader.

Who you Are:

MANTL is seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Sales Engineer to manage and grow our sales engineering team while playing an active role in the pre-sales process. This is a player/coach role where you’ll guide your team in delivering impactful sales engagements while also contributing hands-on to sales efforts. You’ll work closely with leadership to drive MANTL’s go-to-market strategy, refine product messaging, and ensure the voice of the customer remains central to product development.

Given the accelerating pace of digitization and disruption in our target markets, this role is key to MANTL’s continued market growth.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, or related field is preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales engineering, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role.
  • Deep experience in fintech, SaaS, or enterprise software solutions, preferably in digital banking or financial services.
  • You are experienced with the origination process at a bank or credit union, ideally including account opening and loan origination.
  • Proven success in leading and mentoring teams, with a collaborative, hands-on approach.
  • Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software integrations, APIs, and core banking systems.
  • Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with experience tailoring technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-first mentality, with a strong passion for solving customer challenges and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • You can help drive a strong Sales Engineering framework - you will be working with leadership to assist in building out and refining these processes.

What you Will Do:

  1. Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing sales engineering team.
    • Provide guidance and coaching on discovery, demo creation, integration scoping, and competitive differentiation.
    • Foster a collaborative team culture with a focus on growth and skill development.
  2. Pre-Sales Engagements:
    • Participate actively in complex sales cycles, leading in-depth discovery sessions to understand client needs and pain points.
    • Design and deliver tailored product demos that highlight MANTL’s value proposition and meet specific customer requirements.
    • Lead technical scoping efforts to ensure smooth transitions from pre-sales to implementation, including integrations with core banking systems and third-party technologies.
  3. Sales Enablement and Messaging:
    • Develop and refine sales messaging in collaboration with marketing and product teams to align with market trends and customer needs.
    • Equip the sales team with the tools, technical insights, and collateral needed to position MANTL’s solutions effectively.
    • Stay informed of industry developments, competitor solutions, and regulatory changes that impact the sales process.
  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with product and engineering teams to ensure the voice of the customer is reflected in product roadmap decisions.
    • Provide ongoing feedback to leadership on market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer challenges.
    • Work closely with marketing to develop thought leadership content and materials that resonate with our target audience.
  5. Customer-Centric Approach:
    • Advocate for customer needs and ensure those needs are central to all sales and product decisions.
    • Drive post-sale success by aligning closely with implementation teams to ensure accurate scoping and smooth handoff to customer success.
