Telehealth Behavioral Health Provider - Crisis Line - PRN

Schedule: PRN. We are looking to fill a minimum of two 8-hour shifts per month. Available shift times are 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM and 8:30 PM – 12:30 AM ET

Opportunity for Impact:
We are seeking a PRN Behavioral Health Provider to provide direct services to students utilizing Mantra’s ConnectNow service, an in-the-moment crisis/support line for college students. In this role you will use active listening and solution-focused approaches to collaboratively engage students seeking support with mental health concerns. In cases of high risk, you will assess the situation and recommend appropriate crisis interventions for implementation by individual students, campus staff, and community helpers. We’re excited to meet folks of all backgrounds who are inspired about our mission to solve the mental health crisis for young adults.
The expected pay for this position is $30/hour with a weekend evening differential.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide warm, empathetic responses to incoming calls from students needing support or who may be in crisis
- Complete risk assessments and de-escalate crisis intensity to prevent self-harm or harm to others.
- Collaborate with students to develop a plan for safety and recommend next steps.
- Support students seeking ongoing care via external referrals, referrals to Mantra Care or available campus resources.
- Initiate follow-up calls to check on client welfare and encourage service linkage.
- Maintain clinical documentation, ensuring detailed and accurate logging of user sessions.
Who You Are:
- A Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or a related field
- 1+ years experience practicing telehealth, crisis management, or in a call center environment
- Training and experience in assessment, crisis intervention, and treatment planning
- Ability to learn, maintain and demonstrate mastery of clinical policy, call handling, and operational protocols
- Proven ability to work well under pressure while maintaining professionalism and maturity
- Ability to exercise excellent independent judgment with minimal direct supervision
- Eagerness for professional and personal growth opportunities
- Schedule flexibility with openness to work a non-traditional schedule that may include evenings and/or weekends
And the following would be nice
- Hold an independent, unrestricted licensure to practice counseling and/or psychotherapy (state equivalent of LCSW, LPC, LMFT, Licensed Psychologist etc.)
- 2+ years of experience practicing mental health counseling and psychotherapy
- Ability and interest in picking up extra shifts as needed to cover team member’s PTO
