We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Designer to join Universal Design Studio in London. Reporting to the Senior Creative Team, you will play an important role in supporting both the creative and technical delivery of our projects, ensuring our work consistently meets the highest design standards.

 

This role is ideal for a proactive team player with a passion for design in its broadest sense, keen to grow their skills, take on responsibility, and contribute positively to our collaborative studio culture. You will support the design team across project stages, help communicate creative intent with clarity, and begin to liaise with clients and external collaborators.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design team across all project stages, providing creative and technical assistance.
  • Contribute to the production of design intent and technical drawing packages under supervision.
  • Attend and contribute to internal and external project meetings, including site visits.
  • Research materials, sustainability criteria, and budget considerations.
  • Develop technical knowledge in joinery, architectural detailing, and industry regulations (e.g., RIBA stages, CDM).
  • Produce 3D and physical models to support design development.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong enthusiasm for design and creativity across disciplines.
  • Confident communicator, able to clearly present ideas and thought processes.
  • Experience working with creative teams on design projects.
