Summary:

The Hardware Solution / Firmware Verification Engineer will manage the testing lab in Plano, TX, focusing on troubleshooting and maintaining server and ASIC miner systems. The role involves running firmware tests, developing test plans, conducting manual and automated testing on ASIC miners across various crypto algorithms, and ensuring firmware quality. Key responsibilities include debugging issues using various tools, automating test processes, and collaborating with development teams to resolve defects. The engineer will also mentor junior engineers and manage contractor-related tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee hardware, firmware, and mining pool testing in the Plano, TX lab.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain issues with servers, ASIC miners, and related hardware.
  • Conduct firmware pilot testing and develop test plans and cases.
  • Perform manual and automated testing, regression testing, and issue diagnosis.
  • Utilize debugging tools (e.g., DVM, UART, WireShark) to identify and resolve hardware/software issues.
  • Document test results, track defects using systems like JIRA, and ensure firmware quality and backward compatibility.
  • Collaborate with development teams for defect resolution and firmware improvements.
  • Measure and verify performance across different workloads.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support contractor management processes.
  • Work with Nonce Analysis team to gather ASIC miner nonce data for consolidation and analysis into monthly reports.
  • Consolidate, review, and approve contractors invoiced billing hours and expenses

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • Strong knowledge in firmware development, embedded systems, and hardware/software interactions.
  • Proficient in C/C++, Python, Go, and scripting languages for test automation.
  • Knowledge of verification methodologies (e.g., directed testing, random testing, regression testing, and code coverage)
  • Familiarity with debugging tools and serial communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, etc.
