We develop, own, and operate bitcoin mining facilities and the energy projects used to operate them. We are looking for a skilled Renewable Energy Sr. Asset Manager to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to manage and optimize renewable energy assets while working with a range of key stakeholders, including operations teams, off-takers, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.

Position Overview:

As a Renewable Energy Sr. Asset Manager, you will play a crucial role in the commercial management of energy projects. You will be responsible for optimizing asset performance, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory obligations, and managing third-party relationships across operations and maintenance (O&M) providers, energy off-takers, lenders, and landowners. You will also help contribute to the due diligence of M&A targets, and onboard new projects as they are acquired. This role requires a deep understanding of energy markets, power purchase agreements (PPAs), insurance, credit management, contract structures, and the regulatory environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Commercial Management: Oversee the day-to-day management of renewable energy assets, ensuring the commercial performance of projects is optimized in line with financial and operational targets.
  • Third-Party Relationship Management: Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including O&M providers, energy off-takers, lenders, landowners, and other partners, ensuring alignment with contractual terms and project goals.
  • PPA and Contract Management: Manage existing PPAs, including the review and analysis of pricing, terms, and structures. Ensure compliance with the terms of the agreements.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, including NERC, FERC, and ISO requirements. Work with internal and external legal and compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
  • Market Risk & Settlements: Monitor market conditions, assess risk exposure, and work with the trading team to mitigate risks associated with energy pricing, market volatility, and settlements. Oversee energy settlements processes to ensure accuracy.
  • Credit Management: Work with credit teams to manage credit and counterparty risk, ensuring that financial obligations are met and working with credit teams to evaluate and mitigate potential risks.
  • Insurance Management: Ensure adequate insurance coverage for assets, collaborating with insurance providers and legal teams to address claims, renewals, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Property Tax & Landowner Relations: Manage property tax obligations and landowner relationships, ensuring all contractual obligations and payments are met in a timely manner.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Finance, Engineering, Environmental Science).
  • 4-6 years of experience in renewable energy asset management or a related field, ideally with exposure to wind, solar, or storage projects.
  • Proven experience with PPAs, energy markets, and asset optimization.
  • Knowledge of energy settlements, credit management, and market risk.
  • Familiarity with NERC, FERC, and ISO regulations.
  • Experience managing third-party relationships, including O&M providers, off-takers, and lenders.
  • Strong understanding of insurance requirements, regulatory compliance, and property tax issues related to renewable energy projects.
  • Ability to manage complex contracts and resolve disputes.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Preferred Credentials:

  • Industry certifications such as CFA, CEM, or PMP.
  • Advanced knowledge of energy trading platforms, financial modeling, or asset management software.
  • Familiarity with market pricing structures and renewable energy policy landscape.
