
Director of Corporate Development
SUMMARY
The Director of Corporate Development will be responsible for executing and managing the M&A and business development objectives of MARA with a focus on Technology and Software businesses in the digital infrastructure and cryptocurrency space. This position offers an opportunity to acquire, build, finance, and monetize large-scale technology and blockchain projects across the globe.
MARA is the largest, publicly traded Bitcoin miner in the world and the Corporate Development team is looking for candidates that can help deliver inorganic organic growth objectives. At its core, Bitcoin mining is an energy/technology and capital-intensive industry so candidates should be highly knowledgeable of project development, blockchain, energy, and corporate finance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Lead execution of M&A, strategic partnerships, join ventures, and other Corporate Development transactions.
- Develop and validate KPIs related to MARA’s long-term plan, benchmarking its performance over time and against peers.
- Construct, analyze, and recommend business strategies, strategic partnerships, and investment opportunities in the technology and energy sectors.
- Analyze and optimize transactions using valuation, financial, and a multitude of other modeling tools.
- Lead negotiation and structuring of transactions, including debt, equity, and structured equity arrangements.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals, presentations, and investment memos for internal and external stakeholders.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, including feasibility studies, financial models, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with other internal teams to evaluate and deliver growth opportunities.
- Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing within the organization to drive the successful execution of technology and energy projects and achieve business objectives.

- Prior experience in financial technology, software and digital infrastructure investment banking or related financial roles.
- Familiarity with financial analysis as it relates to technology/growth financing, corporate benchmarking, scenario analysis, and regulatory assessments.
- A passion for Bitcoin and a basic understanding of how Bitcoin and broader distributed finance ecosystems work, or the desire to learn.
- Experience managing strategies, multiple partnerships, and business deals at once through all deal phases.
- Intrinsic motivation and a strong entrepreneurial spirit – you take charge, solve problems, and challenge the status quo.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate projects for financial feasibility, including conducting thorough financial modeling, risk assessments, and sensitivity analyses.
- Strong communication skills; verbal, written, and presentational; high attention to detail.
- Integrity, empathy, curiosity, and a sense of humor.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree and Master’s in Business Administration from top-tier institutions
- 5+ years’ experience in Investment Banking or Private Equity experience.
